Having got all this way I think I ran a bit too quick (by my standards!) for the first 15mins, I was burning up, knackered, breathing not under control. For the first time I stopped during a run to catch my breath. I didn’t actually stop, I walked and paused the app for about 20 seconds then carried on until the end, which seemed to take forever before Sarah told me I’d completed the run! I’m so annoyed at myself for not running all the way through, especially as I’ve already done it twice. Now feeling apprehensive about w9 and wondering if I’ll make it after coming so far?

You can always slow down! The point of c25k is running for 30 minutes duration, pace & distance can be worked on later. At about W6 I saw this film m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2... and it really helped with the increased durations. It’s low impact, and so slow that the breathing takes care of itself. I still run this way, and one of my weekly runs is 50 minutes - this wouldn’t be possible without this slow jogging technique. It takes a few views to catch everything but just start incorporating what you can and keep refining over time. It should really help you. It turned rutfron a slog to a real pleasure. Good luck!
Hi DiscoRunner, thanks for the advice, the video is very good. I’m going to follow the guys advice. I’m going to put yesterday’s run down to experience and learn from it! If I can enjoy w9 because of your advice I will be chuffed! 🏃♀️😊
I watched the video and followed it for my run last night, the difference was amazing! I made my first full 30 mins, my breathing was under control and although my legs were tired I felt great. Thank you 😊🏃♀️😊
Yes, you’ll make it. You know what went wrong so you know how to get it right ! Remember the wise words of Nelson Mandela: “I never lose. Sometimes I win, and sometimes I learn.” All the best with your graduation week x
Ah, ButtercupKid, that actually made me feel a little emotional! Thank you for your wise words and encouragement. Learning is what w8r3 was all about! x
It all helps ! Up and at ‘em 😄
Hi ButtercupKid, I thought of Nelson Mandela as I was running last night. Your message obviously stuck with me! Xx
Look how far you've come. Did you ever think you could run for 25 minutes? I know I didn't think I could but now I'm doing it and loving it. Just try and take it slower and then once you've graduated you can work on the speed. My husband always tells me it will come naturally (not sure about that!).
Good luck with your next run.
