FINISHED Week 3!

Finally got back to where I was before my ankle injury! and no pain from said ankle! Only problem is, my knees are actually pretty sore. Have any of you got any tips for sore knees? I mean I'm overweight; 183cm/6ft - 103kg/16'3" so that may be it but christ I've never had sore knees before.

I don't think I have any tips, just sympathy. Poor you!

Take care of your knees, they are not a great design and prone to injury.

Hi Jimmyjinxy

I’ve had a odd little niggle with one of my knees when I exercise for a while. It’s never developed into anything to see a Dr about, but I always run and exercise with my knee support on. You might want to try one. I bought it from Sports Direct but I’m sure you can buy one in most sports shops. They don’t have to be overly expensive and it seems to do the trick. It might help!

Good on you for getting back out there and good luck with the rest of the programme too! ❤️

I may have to go and get one. Thankfully it’s not a sharp pain or anything like that, just a sore ache so I’m gonna have to keep a watch on it. It could quite possibly be running form but I don’t know.

Hi Jimmy. Glad you are off the IC. I'm on the IC with foot ankle leg pain. I have discovered I have a really tight peroneal tendon and muscle from tearing it 20 years ago. Really hard to stretch out. Can't get my thumbs in to massage. How long were you out for?. I started week 4 second run stopped me in my tracks. Missing this challenge so much. Walking is painful at the moment.

I rolled my ankle and pushed my navicular bone out of place, along with some tendon damage and bone damage. Was out for 7 months, way too long. Have you spoken to a physiotherapist about it?

Oh crumbs. Iam looking at physios. I only had the Achilles and transverse survive. I also dislocated the navicular and fractured the cuboids. This was years ago. I can walk miles without a problem but running has irritated it. I had gait analysis as I ran on the outside of my foot. I got trainers to help. Now gathering dust. I am glad you are getting back, although it is addictive feeling of running and the challenge it poses. I will get back on it.

I got an appointment with a hospital physio via my GP, who then referred me to othropaedics. I got given a fantastic ankle strap that sort of straps around the back of my foot and tightens using a wheel. It's completely removed the pain in my foot, so maybe something like that would help you too!
