I have recently been doing some 30ish minute runs using the Zombies Run! free app. Having completed Ju ju's up to 10k plan twice, it is really nice to just go out for fun runs with no distance to acheive for a change.
The Zombie run story has missions that take about 30 mins and you play your own music and it goes quiet while you are chatted to. It must be like doing the c25k app (I did the podcasts with Laura).
Something different and I feel a bit like Anneka Rice from Treasure Hunt running along with my wireless headphones, picking up virtual supplies...
Today's run was in the melting snow, the pavements were mainly clear, but snow lay in the fields and on the verges. I started my run with my buff pulled up over my mouth and nose, but soon pulled it down and was breathing nicely quite deeply and evenly.
Dodging the icy patches, picking up a baseball bat, some shorts, a mobile phone I made my way up the hill...
Soon after graduating, I would puff my way up this hill, but now it no longer bothers me, and I'm finding my pace is much quicker than last year before the 10k training.
For me, slow longer runs have made me stronger and I now find I am much quicker without trying to be.
Into the agrecultural college, I ran past the Llamas and emus in their snow covered field and a small circuit around the car park before heading down the hill. I stopped to take some pictures today, and saw these poor daffodils struggling to keep their heads above the snow..
To make my run a bit longer I loop up the road leading to the posh Golf course...nobody will he playing today!...and back again to the gates where I finish in style. My mission was accomplished I warned lots of people of some oncoming zombies and managed to stay out of trouble. I'm runner 5 and proving very useful to Abel Township...
Quite happy doing these runs until the end of the month, then I will do Ju ju's plan again building up to do my 10k virtual Star Wars run on May 4th (be with you๐)...
Happy running everyone. Stay safe๐xxx

What a wonderful post. I never got to 10k and I haven't done my 30 minutes for a while. I have however explored 'Zombies Run!'. Did you know it's written by the woman who wrote 'The Power'?
Anyway well done you, and thanks for sharing your experience. It will help me to get back out there!
Ha, No I don't really know much about who produces the Zombies Run! app, the acting is very good though and because they mention 'the walkers' I thought it might be linked to The Walking Dead'... other forum members have been doing them for ages, just thought I needed a change.
Ha, you have me mixed up again with another runner Tbae. I was Jan-now-runs until I changed my name recently. I'm NOT jancanrun who is doing that 2018 challenge.
No I did not misunderstand. Your kindness is too huge.๐๐๐๐Although I am techie๐ฆ, my daughters tell me capitals means shouting.๐ค๐๐And here was me use to print everything.๐๐ค๐๐๐
There is a sister site to c25k called Bridge to10k come and take a look...same friendly faces as on here and lots of help advice and motivation...
The whole program of Ju ju's plan is running on the Bridge to 10k site the runs and motivational videos from Ju ju are all in the pinned posts on there. Just log on to healthunlocked.com/ bridgeto10k
Yes!! What a super post and beautiful photograph too... very well done you... ! I can just imagine you, minus Anneka Rice;s jump suit.. haring along through this wintry wonderland.. beautifully and you are really going for it...
Zombie destroyer !!!
PS
I think I shall be on Ju's plan again too... maybe together , again , please?
Lovely evocative post, Jan! I may have not enjoyed my run this morning, but I have enjoyed yours. ๐ Reminds me of why I love to run.
I am enjoying Zombie, Runs, too. It is a nice little distraction, and I get very wrapped up in some of the stories. Still not been brave enough to turn on the chase mode! Have you? ๐ฑ
Those poor little daffodils gave me a much needed smile today, as did your wonderful post. Your run sounded strong and enjoyable, helping warn all those people about zombies and picking up supplies. Great job Runner 5. Someday I may need to try it, but I'm a bit of a weenie, so the thought of zombies ๐ฒ๐๐ต
Sounds brilliant Jan?! I donโt know whether to try the zombie runs just to keep my mind occupied??!! Those poor daffodils look a bit like me, trying to keep my head up while Iโm running whilst trying to contain my sneezes!!! Lovely picture though, Iโm sure the daffodils will soon by swaying in a warm breeze (everything crossed!!!) x
Love the photo, how pretty My daffodils are struggling against strong winds .......and so are two runners who I have just spotted trotting past the house running into the wind, phew hard work! Not tried Zombies.....sounds interesting
