Woop woop - I have finally completed the C25K plan on my third attempt. I did wear my new yellow fluorescent T-shirt and socks to celebrate the final run. My teenager came downstairs after a half-term sleepathon to see me warming up and declared my T-shirt needed to come with a health warning because it was way too bright for morning viewing. That's when I knew it was going to happen - I am now feeling enough of a real runner to wear a bright yellow T-shirt and be proud. Thanks for all the support and pom pom waving on the site, it has helped me to keep going and get here and now I can join the Bridge to 10K forum legitimately rather than lurking around in the background π.
I am going to consolidate my running by doing week 9 for the next 3-4 weeks with different coaches to keep it interesting and then maybe go onto Ju Ju's magic plan as I'd like to be able to run for longer so I can go on more sight seeing runs. I am also really interested in incorporating jeffing into my runs, as it sounds like a really good idea for me. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Congratulations Mothmoss on your fantastic achievement! ππ It sounds like youβve got things well planned, consolidating for a little while before you move on.
I followed Ju-Juβs Magic Plan when I graduated about 5 years ago and it went well.
There are some useful guided runs on the Nike Run Club (NRC) app, which I use for most of my outings when Iβm on my own.
You could also think about Parkrun - a free 5K run (or walk) round a local park every Saturday morning at 9:00am. Itβs very friendly and Iβve found everyone welcoming and supportive. You can find the details and joining info online.πββοΈπββοΈ
Good luck, youβre definitely a runner and should be very proud of how well youβve done! ππ
My phone is too old to cope with Nike Run Club π - so I thought I'd consolidate first and then maybe use it as the excuse to get a new phone. It does sound ideal for me as I don't want to compete or do marathons, but I do really enjoy guided runs and not having to think too much. I might join in a Parkrun when the weather starts getting horrible again to keep me motivated through the winter.
Absolutely fantastic news-massive congratulations to you! Very much approve of bright and shiny new kit as a celebration!

I can see youβve found the badge request post. Iβm sure it will suit you when itβs virtually pinned on! Itβs really worthwhile having a good read of the links at the start of that post from Instructor57 to give you some guidance on what you might do next.
Itβs brilliant youβve already decided on a plan for consolidation. You could try a few runs with music or a podcast instead of using the coaches. I found it quite a strange time to start with but itβs very liberating when you get used to it. I love the NRC app and would recommend it if you do end up changing your phone.
Bridge to 10k runs a quest every month where you set your own goals. Youβd be most welcome over there if youβd like to set consolidation as your aim. Youβll recognise a lot of familiar faces! Itβs totally up to you though. Iβve really enjoyed following your journey and I hope you keep updating whether thatβs here, or there, or some combination of both!
I knew I saw you heading to the podium... bright as a button and shining like a beacon! You are out there and showing everyone that you are not just a runner, you are an AWESOME runners, and as the replies already tell you, this is just the beginning!
Maybe in your consolidation time ., shake it up a tad too... maybe the odd run, just with no time or thought of anything, other than a run, because you can... I called them my runs for pure joy!
Well done, it's definitely worth it - it's a bit of a shock at first, but it is massively satisfying to be able to jog along for half an hour without collapsing in a red faced heap by the side of the path π
Congratulations Mothmoss its such a life changing achievement and Iβm so happy for you. ππ»
The fluorescent t-shirt really resonated with me as I started out ct5k wearing all black (to try and hide and not draw attention to myself) but like you by week 9 I felt like βa runnerβ and Iβd treated myself to the brightest orange trainers which I love wearing π Iβm not waiting for summer to wear bright anymore.
Ju-juβs magic plan worked so well for me - just trust in it as you did with the ct5k programme as it will work. I used the time plan as it felt like ct5k - in fact, after having sinus issues, chesty cough and a calf strain at the height of my very short running journey - I think Iβll try the plan again - keep us all updated on your journey and best of luck! ππ»
It did feel great being so bright - never had an excuse to wear bright clothes before - think I might expand into orange and green fluro as I go along to celebrate achievements. Might get my teenager a pair of sunglasses to go with it π
Good to know the magic plan worked for you - will keep that in mind as I go along. I have to have a minor op in a couple of weeks and they have told me that I might not be able to do any vigorous exercise for up to 4 weeks, so might have to consolidate for a while longer, but will get onto the magic plan sometime this summer. Calf issues are something that I am trying to steer clear of as my calves are very tight. I have just got a Renpho massage gun, as CBDB said loads of the runners swear by them and they are amazing for releasing old tension in calves. Also, they had a massive Valentine's sale on!! Will post how I get on - thought I could try to release some calf tension during the recovery period and see if it makes a difference when I begin running again.
Good luck in your redoing the plan and would love to see a photo of your trainers π
Iβve just done a short easy paced run in bright blue leggings, bright pink top, bright orange trainers and a white rain jacket π€£π Iβm getting brave but yes sunglasses would be a great idea π
Thatβs frustrating for you but you know you can do it now and will get there again and thereβs no rush. Just think in the lovely spring to summer months running will be so much nicer than these cold and misty days.
My friend has one of those massage guns, Iβll check them out, Iβve been using a foam massage roller but like you I always seem to struggle with tight calves (especially my right one where Iβve previously pulled it many years ago).
Iβll try and attach a pic of my fluorescent trainers ππ
What a heartening post π This really does sound like the beginning of a new adventure. Well done on all you've achieved (and you've earned it) so far. Bridge to 10k is also an excellent platform and you'll be ready to take it on π
(Iβd forgotten about those teenage sleepathon, as itβs been a few years since I had teenagers living with me , but you did say it was morning still, so not too outrageous )
