So, back on form after my 6 weeks out with a ham string injury, and feeling very strong. (Have been running for around 6 weeks again, have completed 4 x 5k and lots of 30 min runs in the last 6 weeks and this morning was feeling good enough to go a wee bit further, 5.49k. No aches, no pains, legs feel strong, breathing is improving (but not enough for my liking!)

What now for Sadie-runs?! Well, I would like to run a bit further and I was wondering, what is best for building stamina? Should I run up some gentle hills? Should I try interval training? I am thinking of doing Ju-Ju's 5-10k programme when it next starts again, but for now, I think I need a new mini-goal. One that is safe and achievable of course.

Any ideas from you experienced runners out there would be much appreciated! I have lots of ideas, but not quite sure what to do for the best...

I'm far from experienced runner. My experience in this regard is rather below zero. However, my knowledge is not so bad. My in-experienced suggestion would be: do 1 long run a week (increase not more than 10% of your current distance) as always slow and steady, implement tempo runs: runnersworld.com/running-ti....

Good luck!

Yes, I have been pondering that (hence my slightly longer run this morning). Thanks Iga! How are you doing, dearest?

Preparing mentally for tomorrow morning run. This week was really good for me, so I hope my running gods will stay with me for longer.

Yeay.. go you.. you are getting there.. Very well done:)

What about the C25K+ podcasts???? Achievable and fun... and impacting on the way we run. ?

Thank you Floss! Slow and steady has got me here. 😀 And strength training has made such a difference, I think.

I have downloaded the C25K+ podcasts ... but the music?! Aaaaagh. I am a massive music fan and not sure I can cope with lovely Laura’s choices. 😂 But maybe I can suck it up, at least once...

Well done Sadie, you’re certainly going in the right direction.

Ju-Ju has literally just started the Bridge to 10k again W1 2.5k, 5k and 5.5k

You’ve already done the 5.5 so that’s the long run out of the way 😊

W2 is 3k, 5k and 6k

Good luck Sadie 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

I know - but my issue is confidence! I am not sure I am quite ready yet...but soon! I cannot imagine running 10k! But I suppose I couldn’t imagine running 5k last October. 😀

I know, I am Nervous Nancy. xxx

Don’t look too deep into it Sadie, just lace your shoes up, run and see where it takes you 😘🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Whatever you decide just don't push your distance too much too soon - keep to the 10% rule as you don't want to risk another injury.

Those C25K+ podcasts aren't too bad if you can stomach the music, although I have a love/hate relationship with Speed podcast, but at least I've stopped shouting at Laura now. ;-)

Thanks Razouski. I will definitely only increase fractionally - I really don’t want to be get injured again, it was very sobering. I would rather have a snail like progress than injure myself! I think I am a bit stronger now since that injury, as I have been doing all kinds of good strength training. ✊

Poor Laura! She gets a lot of stick for that podcast! I also have some interval training missions on my Zombie Runs app that I might try ... though that involves being chased by Zoms! 😱
