Well that's it... I've done it! I suppose I was expecting an emotional response like I got on W5 R3 but it was almost an anticlimax.
However I am very proud of myself for sticking with the programme, for not letting lethargy, laziness or any of the usual gremlins sway me from my determination, from my commitment to myself to believe in myself enough to just do it!
I feel so much fitter than when I started. My journey really started last year when we started cycling in April. I've lost over 20lbs, I've dropped a jeans size and it's staying off. I now own the tightest lycra I've ever owned and wear it with pride in my abilities and my determination.
I feel better about my body and mind.
This programme is just amazing as are all of you lovely supportive people.

I ‘graduated’ on Wednesday and felt rather ‘meh’ about the whole thing, but today I had a fantastic run and have just returned from a Lidl trip to stick up on the old Lycra 🙈🙈.
And don't forget about gusseted leggings or capris if you plan to run commando (you'll only make that mistake once 😬). Although I think a link someone posted awhile back indicated that it might be more of a North American trend to do that 🙋🇨🇦😂, and for me it is NOT a winter thing. I need as many layers as I can to prevent numb bum from running in the cold.
A few years ago when I was running with a friend who was training for longer distances, she told me about it. It can help prevent chafing and with the right gear is surprisingly comfortable. The first time I tried it though, my capris were NOT gusseted. Not comfortable, very awkward and never to be done again with those capris. When running in really warm temps, with the right leggings, it is comfortable and freeing 😆...and no chafing 😆. TMI, I know, but don't knock it 'till you try it 😁
I get it. It's very much the thing with cycling. Having suffered a couple of bad chafing episodes myself I would consider it for serious distance running I guess.... but not for 30 min runs 😂😂
She was training for a HM and then we ended up signing up and doing a full walking marathon. Now I'm training for a HM but even if I wasn't, I can't go back 😆
My kneejerk reaction is Hell No... But on reflection, given I wear the biggest knickers to run in as I can't abide any kind of riding up, the option between gusseted nothing or small knickers, I'm probably gonna be better commando?!? I'll store that nugget for emergencies LOL.
Lovely though the patterned Lidl ones are - I'm thinking they would be VAL* as opposed to VPL if worn commando!
Haha! No, only one. I bought a plain pair and a patterned pair. I wore the plain ones. The patterned ones seem a tad shorter. Didn't want cold ankles. Bargain at 5.99 each! 👍😉
I think there are going to be a lot of "twins" out there. (And that misswobble will wish there was some kind of affiliate code - well I ended up there thanks to her anyway!)
Well, I'll probably join you ladies a bit later, it's waaaay too cold up here for me to be outside in those tights just yet (please note the attempt to sound like a real runner by calling them "tights", whilst giggling inside because that still conjures up utterly weird pictures... Nah, I'm gonna stick with "leggings" )
I know!! Tights just makes me think of thick woolly winter tights 😂🤣😂
The best bit by far is we both have bib tights now for cold weather cycling!!! I won mine in a competition and his were a prize for a race I won but they gave out mens gear!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I'm totally going full Christmas tree next chrimbo! I actually already run with those dog collars that look like blue glowsticks wrapped around my arms and clip lights on my trainers (you can see them in my profile pic).
Thank you! Yes I am very proud. I was often told in my youth that I never finished things so I shouldn't start... I understand now much of that was actually gas lighting by a narcissistic mother but it is really nice to complete the programme, even knowing I'm not going to stop after either. I've printed my certificate and it's going on the fridge! 👍😁🏅
I was soooo planning on getting the actual badge, then realised the *small* flaw that since only 3 people in "real life" know I've been running that I'd be "outing" myself!!! (I'm weird I know )
I have seen that. I did consider it however I couldn't think when I'd display it. I have a uniform at work. Could wear it running I suppose but I don't really see anyone I know. It is such a personal thing too. I may yet get one... still undecided 😁

I know /hope you will continue posting with your continuing running journey, and carry on encouraging and and helping new runners the way you have been doing.
Yes, I'm not planning on going anywhere. I'm watching so many others on their journeys, I want to help others get the most out of the programme and learn to believe in themselves along the way 👍😁🤗
Thanks Jen. I try. I was diagnosed as clinically depressed 10 years ago. In my fight with the dark side I have learned to be much kinder to myself and others. I'm far from perfect but I know my fight has made me a better person. 🤗
Thank you Michele, yes I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. It is all beginning... I've become 2 things I never thought I would... a cyclist and a runner! Lots of lycra and neon tops... and I'm loving it!! 🤣🤣🤣🏃♀️😁🤗

Must confess I was the same, R3 felt a bit of an anti-climax and I also had more of a reaction to W5R3. Of course you know my next W5R3-esque moment! (I'd like to thank the super moon for upping the ante with that one!) First week of post grad runs was pretty awesome though, so enjoy that!
Really glad I did the consolidating 30 min runs. Has just made everything afterwards seem "comfortable", which was NOT the word I was expecting!

You had the vision and insight to get to the end and graduate, you are a strong willed woman. I would rather go for a 30 mile bike ride across the mountains behind my home than go for a 10 minute run. You got there well done chick. GOGO-JOJO
