A quiet run of 5 kilometres

First run since losing our beloved cat ("Sophie the Cat") this morning. I couldn't really face listening to anything bizarre on my podcast list, so decided to "Go Commando" (in terms of my ears you understand....not the other type!) and run listening to the birds tweet (literally, not Social Networking) and breathe in the noxious fumes of rush hour exhaust pipes.

I thought I'd have to at least spend one section of the planned 5K walking, just to get my breath back, but NO! I kept up a steady pace the entire distance which I was pleased about. I saw another couple of runners ACTUALLY RUNNING! I "jog briskly" (as opposed to actually "run") but these dudes were going some speed and I thought to myself "I wonder how far they've run so far to do that speed?" Ha! They'd probably JUST left the house and in another 3 minutes time they'd be bent over double with a stitch so bad they'd scream for their mummy's!!!

Or they were serious athletic types. Probably the latter...

Romped home in 30'16sec which aint too shabby. It was still ghastly coming in the door and seeing no cat to talk to. I guess time will fix all this eh? Usually does.

I shall bounce back before long and report on back on my RUN'OLOGY!

Go careful out there.

Dan

I'm with Dan; thought you looked coolly enigmatic!

How on earth do you talk at a parkrun? I could barely breath let alone have a conversation! Well done!

We go slowly... And enjoy talking about naughty stuff and watching their shocked faces as they run past!!!!

A great time, well done. And perhaps, although it's sad for you to come in to no Sophie, she's sitting up there looking down at you, still in total indifference :)
