I feel I cheated with my last 30 min treadmill run, but I thought this would be a safer option. Wouldn't have believed this day was possible!! Now I have graduated!!!
Hello, please can I have my badge? Just completed my Wk9 Run 3, have had a bath and feeling human again! Looking forward to running without snow and 5 layers, hoping to actually get to 5k before long!
I did it! I truly truly did. Blood, sweat, tears and snow but I finally made it. After starting in true cliche fashion on New Years Day I made it to the end of the first stage of my journey ππ
Hi my username is ElizaMai. I just completed wk 6 π
Do I text you when I have completed the end of week 9 ? Very pleased to hear I get a certificate at the end. Prefer to run on my own in my own time at my own pace πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ Think thatβs why I am succeeding this time π xπββοΈπββοΈ
Hello. When you have completed the nine weeks, just leave a message on this post. Then the badge fairies will make sure you get your badge. The certificate is down-loadable .
Keep going runner, more than half way there now! π
Yay I graduated today π on International Woman's day as well! Completed in the 9 weeks also 2 of those weeks were in Cape Verde while on holiday. Feel very proud of myself I'm 53 and have never been a runner, achieving this is amazing especially when i could barely run 60 secs in the first week! Go me πͺπ
I completed the final run today, week 9, run 3. Came back looking like a beetroot but very happy. Thanks for all the tips, hints and stories on here. They definitely kept me going and taught me my βslow and steadyβ mantra that got me through.
Whoop whoop! Graduated today and mostly owed to this forum and posters as i'm sure I would have fallen off the wagon long ago without them. Good luck all.
Hi! I ran my graduate run last monday in the rain! Did my first bridge to 10K wed night then...down with flu since but hopefully back out this Wednesday!
Great way to graduate runner, well done ππ»ββοΈ
I did my final run this morning. I'd like to thank everyone for the support and advice - couldn't have done it alone. And I can't quite believe that I've graduated!!!!!
The end of the beginning! Just completed W9R3 but went into run for 39 mins to get to the 5K. So grateful for the support on here and canβt wait for what comes next!
Did my run, felt happy ..chucked a post out , forgot about it,had a shower , went to work (we donβt have WiFi) came home...logged on...blimey ...bit overwhelmed...
Hi, I finally completed my W9R3 this week and would love a graduation badge please. I didn't quite make it for my 50th birthday due to a wee mishap on week 7 (slipped on ice while twiddling with iPod & smacked head on pavement) but I was only a week late! According to Endomondo I'm running at 15mins/mile which is pretty slow. Any tips on speeding up? BTW this forum is an amazing source of help and encouragement. Many thanks.
I would say as you get comfortable with 30 min runs your speed will naturally increase. You could also try bursts of increased speed within your run, say 2 to 3 mins 3 or 4 times in the run. Don't push too hard though, you still want to have fun π
Thanks JoJo. As you say, getting comfortable with 30mins should come first. Think I'll spend the next month or so just enjoying being able to run for 30 mins and get some miles on my legs before I attempt anything more advanced. π
Oke doke. I can see the badge on the post I am answering. Just to the right of your name........grey badge with Graduate written on it. It is definitely there ππ
If you use the App, badges do not usually show. As Bluebirdrunner said above, go onto the web based site, healthunlocked.com, select the c 25k forum to see your first badge, select B 2 10k site to see your Graguate 10 badge.
Hello and whoop whoop I've done it!! Graduated this morning with a park run graduation run!!! I ran to the scanning both with a sudden energy boosting sprint!!!
Completed my last 30min run with my group last night! Extended slightly as well to get the 5k as a bonus. Never thought it was possible, now on to 10k!
Hello, Just completed week 9 today and feeling great to have run for 30 minutes, 3 times this week - but must confess very slowly......only 3.5kms in 30 mins. Now will work on steadily increasing pace.
Hi, I graduated this morning! I started in January and stuck with it, which is the weird part because I rarely finish anything!! Havenβt posted till now but I really valued the encouragement and motivation I found on the forum.
hi Millsie, ok Iβm very grateful to you for describing it, I thought it was going to be a graphic badge- now I know what Iβm looking for I can see the word graduate π€ͺπ finally! Thank you!
Hi This weekend I ran in my first Parkrun, 5km. First time I have not been solo. There were 700 runners! I did my 5K in 32:21. Can't wait for next weekend to do it again. C25K has been fantastic. BTW I am 50 and weigh 210 really enjoying my running
At times it's been 'challenging', though Yes! I have enjoyed it and am going to continue.
I've spent lifetime thinking I couldn't run and if I tried... got the evidence to support this belief. Cramps, breathless, sore legs etc, however... I'd never been taught how to run. The C25k has taken me gently, by the hand and shown me I can do it, at 56!
It's not just the running I've enjoyed. I moved to a city about six years ago and missed being in the countryside and connecting with nature. However, I found a lovely little park which has cultivated areas, woods, riverside and a mapped out 5k route! (Fletcher Moss Park).
Starting the C25K at the beginning of the year has allowed me to reconnect with nature. The elements, wind, rain, snow and mud! Also the chance to notice the gradual arrival of Spring, both plants and animals.... wonderful.
In addition to the 5k I also go for a 6-8 mile hike at the weekends. All this together with a calorie controlled diet has brought my BMI down into the "normal" range, and my Asthma has improved too.
I am incredibly grateful to the program and all that support, promote and maintain it.
You have your virtual badge, its been there a few days. Its the shaded grey area to the right of your name with graduate written across it. If you are on the App it wont show, you will need to log into Healthunlocked.com π
Oh gosh - that coveted badge looks amazing (just polishing it now...). Thank you to all the great people who run and contribute to this forum!! ππππββοΈ
Wow!!! It took me ten weeks but I graduated today. Still don't really believe I ran for 30 mins three times this week. Such an amazing programme and wonderful support from everyone on this forum.
Hi there. This is going to seem very silly but Iβm not sure if I requested my graduation badge. What does it look like? I did send for my physical pin badge though!
Have I done something wrong? I left my name here earlier in the week but still don't see the coveted "graduate" next to my name but others who completed after me do? I want the world and his wife to know i've done it!
Got to say this programme is awesome and has given me a new lease of life, so much more energy, confidence and drive. Thanks to all for your support its much appreciated
Crack open the fizz πΎ it's my Graduation Day today π did my final run in the local parkrun so did the full 5k (even if it did take 39 minutes and no walking) I'm a runner, albeit a slow one, well chuffed ππ
Hi - finished my third run of week 9 last weekend - so proud. Have done one run at different speeds and one 35 min run for stamina this week as determined to keep going. Just downloaded 5K+ podcasts to consolidate over the next few weeks as I think I need the Laura effect for a bit longer!
Hello - I finished in April! Would love a badge as I didnβt think Iβd do it and am very chuffed π. Iβm even thinking about 10k now but we shall see. This is a great forum - really inspiring. Thank you!
