That triumphant glow...

Having fretted about week 4 for so long I finally bit the bullet tonight and the world sure looks better now I've done it (despite the howling gales and lashing rain)!

Laura's encouragement gave me the final mental boost for my first 5 minute run and I actually found it quite easy (then again it was down hill) :)

Better still, the three minute runs were uphill, my calves are feeling it now, but I survived 3 minutes on a serious incline, I'd have been out of puff just walking it 4 weeks ago!!

I never thought I'd have the determination to stick at something like this (I usually give up within 10 days) so to say that I've overcome my doubts and shown myself that I'm strong enough has left me on an all time high. As soon as I'm satisfied with my runs for this week I'm stepping it up for week 5. Now I know what people mean when they say they enjoy running!! I feel fantastic :D

What a lovely positive blog! Enjoy that feeling of pride in sticking to something - and the feeling of satisfaction realising that you really are getting fitter already!

Well done - it's amazing to see how quickly we make progress with this plan, isn't it! I used to (let's be honest, still do!) choose my routes very carefully in the early stages to make sure that any uphills were in the first half (at least, as far as possible!), and that there wouldn't be any killer climbs towards the end.

That feeling of having completed a run is still what keeps me going, even now that I quite often enjoy the actual running, too! :) Enjoy this week - and the rest of the programme!

well done kirsty mc and everyone!!! It's great isn't it. A real challenge and the feeling of 'yes' done it when you get back is tremendous. I've been out this morning on my week 4 run 2 (on my own!) - managed it and feel great. Now got my sister running - so going out tomorrow with her on her week 1 run 3 ... she's enjoying it too. Enjoy your next run!
