Should I try third run only or entire week if I failed only 1 run?

Hey Guys,

I am on week 4 and until now I have completed all runs within time period i.e. 3 runs a week.

My first run is on Thursday

Second run is on Saturday

and third run is on Monday

From week 1 I have been following this routine and have never failed a single run.

This was supposed to be my week 4, I had a successful 1st run last Thursday and then I had my second successful run last Saturday but I couldn't run my last run yesterday (Monday) as I was very tired because of traveling and was sleep deprived despite that I tried but couldn't run more than eight minutes.

My question is: As my week starts from Thursday, if I go tomorrow (Wednesday) and attempt again 3rd run (within this week) and successfully run it should I move on to week 5 or I should repeat week 4 all three runs?

Thanks

Arslan

No just carry on. You don’t need to repeat!

If you read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it explains that C25K weeks do not need to match calendar weeks and a lot of other basic advice.

You just need to try r3 again then once you've managed it move on to the next one. Then if you can only run Thurs, Sat and Mon you'll just have to wait for Sat to do your next run.

The app doesn't require you to be completely prescriptive about the whole thing.

Don't use the F word, it was a practice run not a f*****... ;) I mean heck, you went out to try it when you body was going, "Yeah, this is not ideal", so it's far from a fail, it's a gold star for perseverance. So just try that ONE run again. The only important thing is you had a least one day of rest inbetween. So you can run it on Wednesday or Thursday. Then move on to Week 5 on Saturday as normal (or if you're feeling like mixing it up and you did W4R3 on Wednesday, then start Week 5 on Friday).

The important thing like IannodaTruffe [mutters personal joke to herself about needing a button] and Nictwit said is don't get tied up in the week/timeframe thing. The weeks don't have to fall into perfect weeks and you don't have to do it in exactly 9 weeks. :)

Slow and steady - and forgetting about 'must be perfect" 😀

Well done on getting this far! There’s no need for you to repeat the week as you completed it, even though it went slightly outside of your pre-set timeframe. The important thing is building stamina and being disciplined about allowing each set of runs to build on the previous set (i.e. no cutting corners). Th eknly ting I would say is, make sure you have a rest day.

I repeated week 5 but only because I'd had two weeks resting a sore knee. I run every 4th day ie. run Monday Thursday Sunday as this suits me better. I'm improving but if I feel like repeating a week I will. Good luck and well done for getting this far

Carry on from where you left off , I ran last Thursday then this Tuesday I certainly am not going to beat myself up for not been able to do 3runs a week ever week 👍🏻

I want to finish this program and if that’s at my pace so be it ,

If I kept going back to last run it would take me forever to complete the 9 week program 🤷‍♀️then I know I would be disheartened and probably not finishing at all 🤞

Forward is the only way to go

For me there is no other way ,

I would repeat the run you didn't manage to complete but then carry on as usual. I had to miss a 3rd run on friday having been away for the weekend butjust did it on Monday. Have messed up my normal routine but as long as I keep doing the runs sequentially it's fine. Good luck!
