Taking a break for sickness?

If I have to take time off to recover from an illness, will I be able to pick up where I left off? Or will I lose some of my progress? I am finished week 4. If I don't run for a week, will I still be able to carry on with week 5 or will I have to do week 4 again?

I would expect you would be able to pick up where you left off. Our fitness doesn't disappear that quickly. Just make sure you are fully recovered before you run.

If you don't run for a fortnight you will very likely be able to pick up where you left off. Any longer and you might have to drop back a run or two.

As IannodaTruffe says, we don't lose fitness that quickly :( If in doubt, when you head out again take it slowly and listen to what your body is telling you :)

I cracked a rib iduring c25k week 4/5 and so couldn't run at all for a month. Was surprised that fitness was still good when I went back to the programme. Only needed to drop back a week.

If you run when not recovered they're more likely to end up being 'practice' runs anyway. No point jeopardizing progress for a few days rest.

Thanks everyone! Nice to know I can miss a few days and not do too much damage. :)
