Holiday break

Hi, I'm off to Greece on Thursday and beating myself up about not being able to run for 9 days. After graduating i have been running 5.5k now 3 times a week for about 5 weeks. Will I be able to do this when I get back? I still find that a tough run but it will be way to hot and hilly for me to do this when I'm away. Any hints please?

You’ll be fine. All the experts say that you don’t lose fitness for at least 2 weeks. Just relax and have fun.

I hope so, thank you, even after probably a lot more food and alcohol!

I had a week off in July. Running on the Monday was ok then after that it felt as if I had never stopped. Don't worry and enjoy your holiday 😊

You’ll be fine (and probably better) for taking some time off.

Now that you’ve graduated, not all runs need to be the same distance. You could run 5km, a shorter recovery run - say 20 minutes - and then a longer run each week. Mix it up a bit, and keep it interesting.
