Hilly first outside run!

Finally got myself outside having got away from the cold for a week. Bit of a shock having to run up hills and my legs feeling heavier than they have done on the treadmill but good practice for when I finally get to do my first park run after (hopefully) graduating in two weeks. Had to walk a little bit up the hills but still proud I finished my week 8 run. The big change for me is that I stuck with it despite feeling exhausted. Quite proud of myself. Onward and outward👍!

Well done you! I confess, where I live is completely flat and so although I’m getting through the programme okay, I’m aware that if I’m ever faced with a hill I’d probably start going backwards!😳😳😳😜

That’s exactly how it felt at first and while I didn’t manage to keep running all the way to he top I was pleased to do most of them and not stop entirely. Thanks

Brilliant run, no wonder you're feeling proud. I'm sure you will come to love running outdoors. Although there may be hills, there's so much more variety than on the treadmill, plus you can't just get off when you've had enough as you still have to get home. ;-)

Very true. I want to treat this as my transition to the outdoors and ditch the gym. I can certainly see the attraction of the variety of surroundings now that I’m onto the long runs. Thanks for the encouragement.
