First run complete!

Finally built up the motivation to start! Just finished week 1 run 1, I have never done any running previously, did struggle towards the end but pushed through. 🥳

Already proud of myself that I’ve started this, I am really wanting to keep it up.

Using this as my whole big new me thing, I recently quit smoking and I am just wanting to feel a bit fitter and healthier and lose a bit of weight before my 21st birthday. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to stick with my goals. ☺️

Thank you!

I have the video for the stretches bookmarked it’s just fighting the urge to just sit down after finishing the run that’ll be difficult! 😅

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done brearuns 👏🏻👏🏻you’ll soon get hooked on the great feeling a run gives you. Stick with the programme and try to pace yourself, nice slow jog, you can always pick up the pace at the end if you’ve got more left in the tank. If you get into a nice rhythm with your breathing too you’ll find your legs just automatically carry you through, take a nice deep breath in, then purse your lips slightly as you breath out. Good luck We’re all behind you🏃‍♀️
