Just completed my first park run today. It was a really great experience and I found a running buddy part way round who got me through it. Not the fastest 5k I’ve ever done but there were 3 hills and quite a bit of mud.
I’m so proud. And now I know I can do it I’ve no excuses to not do it!
I was pretty low down the ranking but got there in 39 minutes. 😊👍🏼

You’re very kind, it’s taken me a long time, (which I’ve learnt is my modus operandum) I’d say I’m just stubborn! Mind you, if you’d said to me, when I was struggling my long way through C25K that I’d eventually do half marathons, I’d have thought you were totally bonkers and would have said no way........not sure what happened there.....🤔😂
Of course you’ll get there, you’re brilliant, you’re doing it. With parkrun, my only regret is not going sooner, it really is the best invention......ever! I would not have gone on to do what I’ve done so far without my parkrun friends.

Well done. I completed my 2nd parkrun today and must say I think they’re great.
A good mixture of people from athletes to walkers and nobody prejudges anyone!
My physio had told me to start running (gently) a hundred yards at a time to see how the achilles reacts and then we're to take it from there.
I reckon by June I should be able to start up again - fingers crossed The physio did say it would take a long time - he was right!! But better slowly than suffering a relapse.
Oh I hope you get fit again. It would be great to see your journey. Coming back from injury is very different though from how it’s been for me. I will cross my fingers for you. 🤞🏼
Funnily enough the running buddy who helped me run today was called Anthony.
Though you’re Antonio(a)
And you could be female! Who knows! 🤷🏼♀️😂
But you were my first running buddy. Even though it was short lived!
I was very nervous as I didn’t know anyone and didn’t want to look like a numpty. But I hate running in groups so I just put my head down, ignored the dogs, children and young people all darting past me and I just kept running at the same pace all the way.
Hey Jude! Well done what a great achievement! I bet if you look at your gender and age category you probably got 1st place !? There’s no stopping you now ... I’ve signed up for a park run but not been yet as back to week 4 at the mo🤨. Amazing a difference four weeks off makes compared to your two weeks off. X
