Well back on the road again. Taking it slow and steady this time! Felt could have shortened the walk but going by the book this time!
Wk1 Run1: Well back on the road again. Taking it... - Couch to 5K
Wk1 Run1
Well done, you! It's easy to be impatient but it's so much wiser to go slower than necessary while building strength and stamina than to rush it and have to take weeks off due to injury. You'll be running for 30 minutes before you know it. xo
There is no rush and building your stamina in a slow and steady manner is the safest way to learn to run.
Read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... for lots of tips.
Started again today. Great to have others start at the same time! Like virtual running buddies!
We can all do this! Just need a bit of encouragement from each other and we will all reap the benefits! Good luck and keep at it! Apparently it gets easier😀 we should set up a returners group?
Sounds like a plan!
Hi Mergirl
How was your first run?
Always by the book... well done you
Daft question but where is 'the book'? I can't run and have never been able to but I'm intrigued to see 'the book' to see if I might be able to do something more than nothing. All I've found on this chat room is people saying how they've done but not what they've done so I've obviously missed something somewhere.
thanks ;0)

This is the Book... all the answers are here.. the programme, how to run it...all things C25K...
The forum and the forum followers.. follow the NHS C25K programme.. and going by the book means you follow each week as it is laid down..

We have had a few folk try to jump ahead...miss weeks out or go much too quickly and sadly, they usually end up on the IC...or fall by the wayside..
In posts... folk usually out which week and which run they are on, or what they have done...and how it went also. As the forum is not really a 'chat room' ( never heard it called that before :)...but a platform for the forum family to share their experiences, get support and great advice and simply be part of this great plan
Are you following the programme now... ???
Just took a peek at you, and I see you have only just joined us... so, take a look at the FAQ link and come on board...
Honestly, it is great fun and unlike Social Media sites, this forum is about support and getting folk where they want to be health wise, running wise and generally feeling great
Thanks for the pointers. I was only nosing around out of curiosity really. As I say I have never been able to run, not even for a bus, and having found the programme I fear even one round of 'running' for 60 seconds never mind the 8 or so recommended in week one. Therefore I don't think I'll be staying.
But I now know what 'C' '25' 'K' means that I saw littering the messages! ;0) (horrified kinda covers my thoughts of people talking about running 25k when I thought we were talking about 5k!!)
Hi Oldfloss
Thanks for the info! Tried to C25k about 5 years ago but gave up after week 3! Hopefully more determined this time around!
