It's the wk5 r3 day tomorrow.

I'm dreading it, even my lovely new running shoes aren't spurring me on.

How bad is it really!?

Why do you think it is bad?

It is just another run in a progressive programme, so you have to expect them to increase in duration if you want to arrive at the aim of thirty minutes running.

Your last workout was sixteen minutes running with a brisk five minute walk in the middle....total 21 minutes W5R3 is 20 minutes...... what is the problem?

I wrote this for people in your state of mind healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Believe in the plan......look how far it has brought you.

Believe in yourself......look how far you have come.

It's not so bad as you might imagine - take a peek at the W5 posts and check out how many have headlines such as OMG I did it, Way hay etc.

Honestly if it was that horrid there wouldn't be any W6 posts! So let your new shoes take you light-footed out of the door.

We are with you on your shoulders (but lightly) and will be cheering you on

Really it’s not - just in your head, but your body will cope. I like you freaked slightly when I saw it. Just go really steady - get yourself well prepared - hankie, double bow in your laces and music or whatever. You’ll be great 👍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

It’s not bad at all! I did the same run tonight and was equally dreading it, but I took my time, didn’t panic and just went at a good steady pace. You can do it, too! Keep reminding yourself about all the hard work you’ve already put in, and tell yourself that there’s no reason you can’t do it. You’ve trained for it, you’re ready, now do it! Have faith in yourself. 😁

It’s not easy but you can do it! I’m 60 years old and have a desk job and not much exercise till recently. Did wk5 r3 yesterday in the rain. If I can do it anyone can

I did mine tonight. I have been dreading it all week but I got through, and then carried on for an extra 10 minutes because I was so happy. Don’t watch the clock at all (I tuck my Fitbit away under my sleeve) and just concentrate on the road ahead. You can do it!

Not what you're looking for?
