Good morning & happy Monday everyone π. I can say that now that my run is done! I don't usually look at what's coming next & really wished I hadn't at the end of r2! Saw I say I enjoyed r1&r2 but the thought of 20 minutes freaked me out. But it's done -who would have thought it possible? Not me 5 weeks ago that's for sure. It wasn't easy but it's done! Yeay!! An hour on I'm a bit achy especially my shins but not quite sure how to stretch them out. Maybe it's time to start thinking about some proper shoes rather than my gym trainers...... I'm not looking at what it involves- but bring on week 6. Have a good week to all my fellow runners & thanks as always for your support & encouragement ππππ»ββοΈπ΅

Well done ChunkyMonkey! Yes it's amazing completing that 20 minute run, isn't it? Who'd have thought we'd have got this far - but we have. This forum is fantastic for helping us get through all the runs, the good but especially the bad. Keep up the good work.
Thank you - I can't believe it - I don't think the husband does either - his only experience of me running being week 2 or was it 3 when I was puffing and panting over 3 minutes whilst he headed off into the sunset. I wouldn't be doing this without the app or your support- I've said it before although I run in my own I feel like all you guys are out there with me - and we're facing the ups and downs together. Happy running π€ππ»ββοΈπ΅
So chunky monkey onwards and upwards to Week 6 it's amazing isn't it? Your feet are your body's foundation so treat them kindly and maybe new shoes are the ticket. As I understand it you are about to hit the only obligatory rule of C25K which is to post a pic of the sexy new shoes when bought. Brilliantly achieved well done you
Hi Jancanrun. Week six more than half way!! I can assure you that when such new shoes arrive I will send a picture- if I can work out how too....! I don't know what I'm looking for other than an independent running shop to help me - now I just need to find one of those somewhere nearby...............
Yes not always easy to do I got mine in Holland visiting my super fit running friend a bit far to go normallyπππ
Hmmm - not sure I can swing a trip to Holland..... nice idea though!!!!! π€
Well you could try the piggy bank trickΒ£1 for every km run. And then either buy the trainers or go to Holland. Oops may cost you quite a lotβοΈ
Haha if I turn into Forrest Gump maybe I'll be able to do both !!! Β£1 per km - those trainers could take some time at my pace π Ps how do you change your picture from the purple blob??
Okay try going to top of page next to Health Unlocked header you see your user name. Click on that and a down menu comes up and it says profile. That takes you to the profile page and in mine at the top it says upload image or wording similar. I can't go and look at it because if I do it deletes this answer. Try that and see if you can. Other people have said you really need to crop your pic, otherwise you get a sort of arty half face photo
Well done, that 20 min run is a watershed moment, proper running shoes make a big difference so go treat yourself I went to a running shop and had gait analysis done, it nipped some aches and pains in the bud.
Thank you - that sounds like a plan - I'm googling to see if I can find a running shop anywhere nearby. So tempting to pick a pretty pair of shoes off is the internet but it's a mind blowing choice & I have no idea what I'm looking for π³ if it can help with aches & pains or prevent future injury I'm in.
