Well Idid it, it was tough and I was very slow!!! According to steps I only did 3.5k that’s including the 5 min walks! Should I be stepping it up abit? I read on here that someone did 6.5k on this run 😬

Amazing well done you! From everything I have read on here the most important thing at this stage is to complete the full run before moving on. I did the same run yesterday 💪🏻 week six here we come!
Comparison is the thief of joy. You just ran for a whole 20 minutes! That is a fantastic achievement! 👍🏻😁
Personally I would be highly skeptical of anyone claiming 6.5k in 20 mins unless they were young and/or at their physical peak 🤣
All trackers are individual, as are people. We all have different levels of fitness, leg length, stride length and pace. We can spend as much as we like on devices that track our pace and distance but they are not infallible. My own have added distance (Samsung was the most generous), speed (I've looked at my £400 watch and laughed at it telling me I was running at impossible (for me) speeds and got annoyed at it when it has said I'm basically crawling when I'm running at a normal pace. GPS can be affected by weather, woodland, and tall buildings.
Enjoy todays' achievement. So long as the pavement is moving under your feet and you are putting a level of effort in that is enough to get your heartrate up without going too far that you are struggling to breathe properly (remember...conversational pace!) then you are doing great! 👍🏻😁
😂😂 thank you so much. I think I need to start enjoying it abit more instead of worrying about it😉
Please don't worry about distance. At this stage that's the way to getting injured! Just running is pushing yourself at this stage in the programme. You've just run for 20 whole minutes! Who would have thought that was possible when you started the programme.
It's not helpful to compare yourself with others and most people don't get to 5k in 30 minutes. Well done, please be proud of your achievement!
Well done for completing this run; it is a real achievement and a measure of the progress you have made.
I know it's hard, but do try not to compare yourself to others on the forum as everyone is so different. Like GoGo_JoJo said, I would also be amazed by a newbie runner claiming 6.5k for this run! Keep your pace slow and steady and run at a conversational pace. The key thing at this stage is to complete your run; increasing speed is for after graduation. Good luck 😊
Thank you for all the advise and comments. Onwards and upwards 😉
Well done !
It's a great run to complete !
Enjoy the buzz !
I don't see how a novice runner would
6.5k in 20 minutes?
So a pace of 3.08/km
Were they on a bike ? 😂
And if (and it's a BIG if !) why are they on this program 😂
Personally I would just ignore claims like that .
You are not competing with anyone .
What you are doing is building strength and stamina to be able to get to 30 minutes continuous running without injury !
Pace can come later (should you want it too)
Enjoy your journey and your success 👏🏃👍
Thank you for all your comments.
Apparently I read their post wrong!!
I shall keep going at my own pace 😊
Don't worry about that time you read about, that is a elete runners time, but for you congratulations on running run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊
Well done. We’re all different and have different ways of approaching the programme but personally, I don’t have a clue how fast or how far I’ve run - don’t have any of the gizmos that count that stuff.😀
All I focus on is completing each session. I’m in my late forties and overweight but am progressing slowly and steadily through each run - now on Week 6. 😊 All the best.
Don’t compare yourselves to others, everyone is different. Congrats on the first major run 😊
Thank you so much. I was quite chuffed with myself 😊
