Week 4 Done

I've just finished run 3 of week 4. I had a bit of love after run 2, for the first time I felt exposed and worried about what others might be thinking whilst I was jogging. It might be that as I'm improving my levels of fitness and want to do more, I'm now expecting more of myself. I invested in a new pair of trainers yesterday and they made a huge difference to my run today. As well as running pushchair free too. It's hard to believe I've finished week 4. I've just read through each of my posts since the start. What a journey it has been. To think I couldn't run for 60 seconds at first without wanting to keel over and now I'm at the 5 minutes stage, which is a challenge but I can recover from! I've seen hints that Week 5 steps it up a gear..... but I've made it to Week 5!

Do you worry what other think about you while out running?

Well done on completing W4 Claire, and yes, W5 does step it up a gear but don’t be daunted by it....you WILL do it, trust me and the programme 😊

I don’t know why you’re worried about what other people might think, no one is judging you and remember, you’re lapping everyone on the sofa no matter how slow you’re going! 😊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Best of luck on W5.... I’m off out to do 7K now 🏃🏃🏃

Hi Claire, you are doing brilliantly. Don't worry at all about W5 - (Lots of people do and then discover that they didn't need to). - The program is really well designed and you will be ready for W5. This week is much more about what your brain believes you can do, rather than about your legs.

Go lovely and slow, relax and find your comfy pace. ( my comfy pace in the first seven weeks was no faster than a brisk walk-sometimes slower!) Even now, I am only a whisker faster than walking pace - but I don't care, I'm just enjoying snail gambolling running and all it's many benefits! 😀

P.S. Forgot to say, lots of people feel self-conscious in the early weeks, and then just forget about it as they get more used to running. There are so many runners out there of all ages, shapes and sizes that most people just don't really notice. 😄

Well done . Great achievement . Keep on running and try not to worry about what others think . If they snigger as you run past it’s because they dare not try it themselves and are probably jealous 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃
