Week 3 done. Finally!

Well they say life gets in the way..... After a week of tonsilitus stopping me finish my final run I was back out there this morning and I've now finished week 3! I was expecting the week off to have set me back endurance wise but it hasn't, if anything I feel in a stronger mindset to attack week 4 and run for what I've seen is 5 minutes! 5 minutes! Wow. When I first started this 60 seconds seemed and was too long. Now 90 seconds is beginning to feel like my warm up and I do feel I can go longer than 3 minutes when I pace myself right. I will struggle with 5 minutes at first I'm sure, but I trust this programme and myself that I will manage it. I saw a true runner today. She had ran the lake in the park I run in by the time I had finished my 20 mins of run 3. I will do that one day. I'm going to sign up for the park fun run and then the actual park run in October. I've reached week 4 so once I finish that I feel I can tell my world my plans and go ahead and book the run. I am loving this running/jogging/getting fit. It clears my head and gives me a boost for the day. Bring on week 4. ๐Ÿ˜

Glad you are over your tonsilitus and able to carry on with the program Claire๐Ÿ˜Š...

It sounds like you are enjoying your runs and have a great positive attitude which will see you successfully moving forward towards that 30 minutes of running... You can trust the program is really does work!

Youโ€™re so right about the value of running for mental health too - that time and space put aside really helps me put down all my normal burdens and just leave them for a while. And then theyโ€™re not *quite* as heavy when I pick them up again. Happy running - you WILLrun around that lake one day, with other people looking at you and thinking that they want to be able to do that...

I totally agree, everything seems a little less heavy once I've run. Thank you. ๐Ÿ˜Š I will do. How fab that will be to inspire a past me! X
