Finally got round to doing my 1st run

Just completed week 1 day 1. 230 calories burnt. Speed was 6 and 9 kmh just shy of 2 miles and sweating like a pig πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚.

I had a dose of the gout just before Christmas and tried to have a run last month but it was too painful. So new month new start for me and I am currently feeling fairly optimistic. Happy running guys 😁

Wow - you must be very fit! My jog is a lot closer to 6k speed than 9k! Well done!

I am far from fit πŸ˜‚. Maybe you mean mph cause it is 3.7 and 5.6 mph I was doing.

No I do mean kmh (ie treadmill) I am between 6.0 and 7.5km depending on how tired I am so you are fit in comparison! :-)

My walk is more like 4.5-5.0kmh

The way I see it is what ever the speed, it is faster than sitting on the sofa so well done and keep it up 😁

Well done because the first run is the toughest run.

Well done you...now slow down :) Forget speed and pace and calories

Just follow the plan.. take it slow and steady and enjoy the journey:)

I have attempted this about 3 times in the last 3-4 years. And always fizzled out around week 3-4. But this time I am determined. This site will help me get through it I just know it. If I feel like I am struggling I will just slow the pace down...simples. Well that's the plan 😁

Well done, but don't worry about pace and distance at this stage. The plan is building stamina and strength, on which you can build speed later. Doing it that way round reduces your injury risk.

The guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... may be helpful.
