Just getting started

Just took a notion to do couch to 5km nr wondering if I could make it to 10km. Never been a runner, in fact spent most of my life avoiding running as a form of fitness. So here I am, just started week 2 today.... fingers crossed it get there!!!

You’ve done Week 1 so of course you can do the rest. It’s just a nice slow steady build. Don’t fret about the 9 weeks most of us take a lot longer. Go Smooth as Irish-John says and the rest will follow. And one day in the future you could find yourself following ju-ju- and her famous 10k plan. Good luck and happy running

Hi Hidden ...welcome to the forum & well done on your achievements so far...slow & steady is the way...if you stick to the programme you will get some surprises along the way...the biggest surprise will be actually being able to run 5k or for 30 mins...doing them together is the tricky part!! I graduated in Oct & can’t do them together but I’m enjoying trying....10k still seems unrealistic to me as a goal but there is ju-ju- ’s plan to aim for once you graduate...enjoy the programme & stay on here for tips, encouragement & inspiration 😉

I’m the same- never exercised in my life but I am loving trying this running thing so much!

I’m on week 2 (though I started before Christmas, had a break and am now starting again!) and I can’t believe how easily I can run 90 seconds!! Still can’t imsgine doing 3 minutes as easily but we will see!!

The key is most definitely going really slowly!!

Enjoy your journey!

You can take this as far as you want to go. Follow the programme and you will be successful, I'm sure. All sorts of others have gone before you and there are lots more starting out with you. Enjoy!

Welcome! It's best to keep to the scheduled runs of c25k and complete in about 9 weeks, so getting it done with and move on..

Remember to take it slow and steady, this is key to you staying injury free, even though you may feel you can go faster, don't! speed will come later..😊

Thanks. Pace does seem to be an issue to be fair.... 90 seconds doesbt seem that long so I’m probably going too quick but I’ll stick with it and hopefully it’ll balance itself out!!!
