After 3 attempts at this I finally completed week 3 day 1 with no pain, just a slight stitch in my side. I was so tempted to give up

You were tempted but you didn't, so well done you. That is nice running grit you've developed and so soon in the programme too.

Congratulations and happy running next time out

Thanks. I will be honest, I looked at the other comments from people that on week 8, I can’t see myself running for 20 mins in a few weeks.

I promise you it sort of sneaks up on you, and before you know it you are doing it. And don't be concerned about the 9 weeks, an awful lot of us took longer, because sometimes you couldn't get on with a particular run. When I started I wondered whether the 60 second interval would be too easy, because 'anyone can run for 60 seconds, right?' and then of course I found out that 60 seconds seemed more like an hour! Now just over 6 months later, running is something I do three/four times a week, and I now giggle at how naive I was at first. very best of luck for you, even now you must be thinking how relatively easy running for 60 seconds would be...

60 seconds is incredibly easy now, you’re right.

Very well done- your determination won the day!

Don't look ahead- it is so off putting- one run at a time is good. 😃

At the same place as you week 3 run 1 . When I looked at it thought I would never run for 3 minutes but I did and amazed myself 3 weeks ago I couldn't imagine running for 1 minute never mind 3 .

Well done jancanrun! Also reassured Vicky45 to hear positive stuff about week 3, which I'm due to start after one more run.

Congratulations!!! Ypu didn't give up and that's what matters the most! Be praud of yourself as you got there success!

I like someone idea that those are not week, they are phases. So don't think how many attempts it takes you. As long as you are going out and doing yoir best, that's what counts and that's giving you all the benefits you need right now. Your body is adapting to new challenges. It will learn! You will get stronger, your stamina and endurance will increase.

I agree with what was said - don't look ahead, just go out, concentrate, and do your best - the sane as today ;)

Happy running!
