As many of us look forward to the Friday toon, from Her Royal Musicness poppypug I created a new Spotify playlist of the Friday toons from the last year or so. As some of you may know I am committing to run the year - 2018km in 2018 for raising cash for Alzheimer's Research, as this horrid disease has my pops in its grips.
This rather foolish/brave self challenge of mine, means I need to run, run regularly, and run an awful lot of kms too. To keep me interested, I decided I'd run the original London Monopoly Board and in whose company could I do that?
Well none other than her musicness, herself. So today we did the two 'brown' squares, Fenchurch St Station, Liverpool St Station, Jail, and got £200 virtually from the Bank of England. in actual fact today I got the virtual £200, as the Spotify playlist sort of glitched and wouldn't play anymore, so HRMPP actually missed out on the money. But we will try again next time out
But if you love HRMPP's music choices like I do - then (drum roll) I give you Retro Runners -The Essential Poppy Pug Friday Toons, which can be found below.
What a brilliant idea! I lost my mother to a rare form of dementia too, I do sympathise with what you are going through and your challenge is a wonderful response. Maybe I could do the Paris monopoly board?! I'll have to have a look at that. I think we have it buried in a draw somewhere. And to great music too, who could ask for better!
Oh I feel for you too - pops has vascular dementia and also Alzheimer’s, so he is in a sorry state. So finding interesting runs is important so I can do the 2018 kms. Good luck with yours... we could set up a new C25K trend!
Both Alzheimers and Vascular are horrid, horrid diseases and it's so frustrating that the research has come to a dead end really. So I run for my dad and your grandma in my heart.
What an amazing target you’re aiming for! And a great cause too.
My 2018 goals are all to raise money for BHF. They are... 50 miles in Jan, 600km in the year, Greater Manchester 10km Run, Manchester half marathon.... and no doubt I’ll add to it too! Just think where we were a few months ago!! Xx
Wow MrsT - you're doing amazing stuff. My first 'big' milestone is to run 15kms before the weekend and that would be my longest run so far. Who would have thought it? And today was a brilliant day, because Lululemon the posh running shop gave me a base layer for free as the shop manager was impressed with my challenge! So am a happy bunny all round, although I do sincerely wish what I am going to do would help my dad, but that is not to be. xxx
I’m doing all mine for the British Heart Foundation. I’m so lucky that they were able to help my dad after he had a heart attack in 2015 at age 54! Turns out his condition is hereditary and both me and my sister have it and my 2 babies will be tested when they’re older. When running with a loved one in mind it makes it that little bit easier. Big love to your dad and you xxx
Oh you got the rough side of the genetic soup didn't you? It must be so hard knowing this is in your body and Erica and Flynny too. Let me know when you do your HM and your just giving page/similar and I will sponsor you too. You were and remain an inspiration to me. I only have middle aged flushes to contend with!
Thanks Chris, wonderful is as wonderful does as I am sure someone famous once said! I am 1900+ kms short of wonderfulness presently, but I do thank you for your kind words.
I hope to have earned them by the end of the year, at least that’s the plan!
