Starting *again* - with a new running buddy!

So, we've been in the new house, new routine for about 3-4 months, and I've been utterly fed up that I haven't managed to sort out a routine for running. I'd thought it would be easier to fit it in, but no. Somehow it's just not happened. But way back in December, my friend and I signed up for the Colour Obstacle Rush which I did with DD2 a couple of years ago.

DD2 was surprisingly disappointed and faux-outraged that I hadn't signed her up too, so I struck a deal. I'll pay for her to do it if - and only if - she comes running with me three times a week from now until the event (in June!). She agreed! Last night I rang her on my way back to the bus stop to get me home at about 8pm, just to check whether we were going running. The wretched child said 'Yes, we need to' and got herself ready to go once I was home. Does she not understand that this was the wrong answer?! ;)

That was week 1 completed together. (I say together - she runs way faster than me, and is far fitter, so does extra bits as she feels inspired to!) On to week 2 tomorrow...

I AM going to get through it this time. I've done it before, I know I can do it. I just need to keep getting out there.

Well done for getting back to it, RainbowC & welcome back. What a lovely way to spend time with your daughter (sounds like she is feeling better).

Run in such a way as to get the prize ;-)

This is the other daughter - but things are better with DD1 too. She’s occasionally talked about coming running again, but hasn’t yet summoned up enough motivation to actually come..!

That’s the sort of thing my middle son would do. Then he’d say he was saving me from myself/doing me a favour! Same as he does when he says it’s okay, he doesn’t want a biscuit/pudding.

So glad he doesn’t live at home anymore!
