Unexpectedly tired run.

Off I went along the beach, beside the dunlins & oystercatchers enjoying the turn of the tide feeding frenzy. Normal warm up & gentle first 10 mins, padded along happily. Eventually turned - into the wind - & within 5 minutes all my energy had blown away! 😦 Had to change to a run/ walk 10/2 pattern. Not at all what I was expecting, but still far more than I could do 3 months ago - & I know that some runs go better than others. Looking forward to continuing this exciting journey ( good & bad runs included) in 2018.

Happy happy running to you all 😃

Beautiful, sounds delightful...I can just imagine it :) ..but beach running, even on dry beaches, can be quite tiring..the pull on our calves is quite strong... and draining...!

You ran and you will run again.. wonderful!

Well done for getting out there.

I experienced much the same conditions at this morning's Parkrun and consequently no PB today.

The most important thing is to get out there and enjoy it.

Good luck with your running journey in 2018.

Happy running and happy new year!

Running on the sand and in the wind, that's fabulous! But also more exhausting than a run on flat stable ground. I went nordic walking this morning and some gusts were so strong that it took a lot of efforts to keep the sticks up at the right angle to push forward. So I can't imagine what it was like for you on a beach!

Well done for the efforts and keep on enjoying running/walking on lovely tunes next year!

I finally ran to Beethoven today! Happy running & Nordic walking Anthie - sounds a great combination. 😄

Wonderful! Beethoven's 7th 2nd movement with the seaside: slow motion, you can imagine you're the star of a film ;-)

Nordic walking is a great addition to running: I started because I couldn't run due to my back problems and now I love both ;-)

Great New Year's Eve! I'm off in an hour or so to run against the wind and the rain...
