Oh boy. I am tired and happy. I ran 5.5k outside this morning along my hilly route and loved seeing the views again and breathing in some air (rather a lot of it, as it was quite breezy)
The roads are wet enough that you could call them streams.
Since my 4 week injury break I've done four runs on the treadmill (20, 22, 25, 28 minutes)and one outside which was a 5k on a flat route, so today was the first hilly one. No major problems with the shin so far, just little niggles and aches in different parts of the body which is to be expected after such a long break.
Todays run was tough (especially the first 10 minutes) tremendous (wow, what wonderful views across the autumnal countryside) tiring (the hills home are quite a slog) and terrific (did I really manage it? Yes I did!)
I have lots of plans going on in my head for future running, but for now I'm really happy to be gradually building up the times and distances again, and simply getting out there and doing it!
