Back in the saddle, with gloves on!

My Achilles started being all Achillesy when last I ran, so I’ve taken a few weeks off. Walking, and eccentric exercises instead. Plus Christmas and all its calories beckoned!

I returned to running tonight (darkness is my friend) but sporting some new gloves that my dear husband got me for Christmas. No more glove on/off faffage sorting out music; they have magic fingertips! Yay! Oh, and I did 30 mins! Double yay!

Good morning!

I love that phrase..'eccentric exercises', it conjures up wonderful images!!!

Very well done you and I am glad the Achilles is easing now.. the gloves look very snazzy, and anything that eliminate faffage has got to be good:)

Well done.

Reconsolidate with a few more 30 minute runs before pushing on to the 10k and keep up the Achilles exercises.

The right gloves are worth their weight in gold.

Eccentric. Sound like uni-cycling with a terrapin under each armpit.

I'm fascinated by the eccentric exercises too! Glad you are able to start up again now. The gloves look great (I can't believe how much I enjoy having proper running gloves with magic fingertips - they truly are the bomb).

I never knew there were such things in heaven and earth....now I need magic gloves!

Good! Lovely gloves! 😃. You can generally run with a twangy Achilles as long as you don’t go mad

I rotate my run shoes, and have ones of varying heel drop sizes to help alleviate the problem. Also just slacking off your laces can help as you can pull your shoes too tight around the ankle causing it to rub your Achilles. I actually cut the back of one of my shoes to stop it rubbing 🙂
