I haven't run since the end of Nov. A combination of knee niggles, cramp, Christmas, the cold snap etc. You know all the excuses. But this morning it was up early and out the door at 6am. I was dressed for the cold so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that there had been no frost. It felt mild compared to yesterday due no doubt to the cloud cover.
I set myself no targets apart from going out to run. I did not care about pace, distance or time. All I can tell you is that I ran inside myself. Rest tomorrow back out Thursday.
Happy runnings in the new year.

Happy New Year to you! πΎ So glad you're back out there running again. Make sure you do some strength and flex exercises or specific ones for your knee. (Says she who's currently on the IC on crutches with a fractured knee π!) π
I graduated, I felt so pleased and proud, π So I started B210K, I ran 4/7 days but it coincided with getting fitter and faster, so I basically increased my distance by 33% in a week rather than the magic 10% which I had not realised, as I was following the programme. And then on my final run of that week, my left knee moaned, but instead of stopping I kept running π (because I was on for a PB, which I got π) so here I am with a stress fracture. . . and breathe! π
How's your knee doing Flossie? You must be a proper expert with the crutches now. I found an apron with a big front patch pocket was a life saver when I broke my ankle. 2hands needed for crutches so everything ended up in the pocket -my kids said I looked like a kangaroo! x
LOL! Thanks for asking AM. Actually, it has its moments, "tweaks a bit" now and then, if you know what I mean. I have a cream coloured cotton bag with long handles that I put over my head and use to carry stuff around in. I am also getting extremely good at positioning the kitchen stool in the middle of the kitchen so I can spin round to dice the onions, spin round to put same in a pan, spin round to the sink to wash up, it's a wonder my head isn't spinning π
And yes, I feel like giving myself an A* for use of crutches. My arms found it hard work in week 1, but since then, I reckon my upper body is akin to that of Fatima Whitbread πͺπ» (no disrespect intended to Fatima you understand) π
Oh the spinning stool, I'd forgotten the importance of the spinning stool to the mobility-impaired busy woman!
I wish I'd persevered with the upper body exercises when I said goodbye to the crutches - I'd be awesome by now.
I'm doing ok thanks. Chest seems clear now and breathing definitely much improved, just in time to go back to work and catch another cold! Hope to try a little run by the end of the week, fingers crossed. x
Good to hear that you're feeling better. π Keep those germs well away from you and enjoy your next run! ππΌββοΈππ»ππΌββοΈππ»ππ
I'm fine thanks. A busy family time over the holidays and icy roads mean I've only managed a couple of runs - but getting back to normal this week I hope.
Hey compadre! Happy New Year! So glad you're back and still running. I had a 5 week period where I was only doing little pretend runs right up until Christmas But, New year, new focus, new fun! All for one
