Feeling sorry for myself

As I am feeling sorry for myself with a cold/flu : I am really hoping to do w9r2 on Sunday as I did run 1 last Monday :-( A bit of a gap!

Has anyone else been running with a cold ?

I have been reading up on a lot of lovely posts: I did’t realise that you could have the app mapmyrun alongside the c25k app!? I will try that from now on.

:-)

Get well.

Any sustained physical exertion will expose your weaknesses, even when you feel you are better by everyday standards. Better to recover fully than battle against an under par body.

Patience.

I haven’t done my w9r2 yet as recovering from cold and following your advice . I am hoping to go in a few days time . So I will have had a week gap : should I just redo w9r1 again or even redo week 8?

Also I wanted to ask: as I start my run I wear a running jacket , zipped up, but as the run goes on I was unzipping the jacket, as I was sweating, and re-closing it on the cool down walk. Is that the right thing to do ? I probably got the cold from sweating and the cold weather ?

You won't have lost condition in that time. Pick up where you left off.

I never run in a jacket, so can't really comment. I prefer a compression base layer, if cold, with a long sleeved shirt.

I've got a cold and I'm not running. I feel dreadful. I can cope with the steaming nose, that's what sleeves are for. I just don't fancy sucking lungfuls of freezing air through my sore throat.

Mrs BW will no doubt call it 'Man Flu'. She caught Man Flu once and was laid up for weeks. I'll be back running in a couple of days. (Well the doctor called hers bronchial pneumonia but I think she was on Mrs BWs side).

Thank you so much ! I am just worried about losing the momentum . But you are all right. After all it doesn’t matter whether I graduate next week or the week after !

Yes, and although I had a couple of days off, mostly, once I'm running, I feel okay, better than I would do tucked up in bed feeling miserable anyway. Be kind to yourself though, if you find it's making you feel worse, then do stop and get some rest. But if you feel up to it, your body may surprise you with what you can achieve whilst not 100%
