Feeling a bit sorry for myself

My running buddy seems to have abandoned me so I decided to start week 8 with a run around the village instead of running on the seafront as usual. I was a bit slower than normal (yes I know, speed is not important, but I still wish I was quicker) as I was kind of working out the route as I went, making sure I won't get home before the 28 mins was up. Well, I am pleased to say I finished the run not completely exhausted so will speed up next time. 5 more runs and I will be a graduate 😀.

Sorry, not much point to this post, just felt like having a moan.

Ok... so... let’s get this straight... your running buddy is awol... you change route... you don’t really have a route so have to think as you run... and you completed that run? Think I got that right. You were completely out of your comfort zone and you got the job done... I don’t know about feeling sorry for yourself, I think that was pretty amazing... celebrate your achievements. Hope your running buddy reports for duty again soon, but you just proved you can do this all by yourself... any place you choose to. Great job, I’m proud of you.

As for that quicker thing... it will come. If you’re tracking these runs, compare them to similar runs in 6 months or so... your comfortable pace will sneak up without you feeling it.

5 to go... 2 more before you start the victory lap that is week 9... we got you and you got this. Happy running.

Aww Zebadee1, main thing is you still went out there and completed your run🙌

When I feel sorry myself, I usually sulk on the sofa, eat a tub of Ben & Jerry's and watch The Goonies ... You're far more productive.

This made me laugh ! Thank you ! I now imagine you looking like your avatar sitting in a blood stained t-short from bleeding nipples, race bling around your neck eating ice cream from the tub 😂

Don't apologise at all!

I was going to say more but UnfitNoMore has said it all so well 😊😊

U r doing great!! 5 left and u will be on the podium celebrating! Hopefully with Yr running buddie too.

My running buddies deserted me for various reasons on C25K, but I found lots of lovely, supportive VRBs on here.😍

Good luck and happy running

The main thing is... you got it done and felt better for it 😉👍🏻

The rest is just hot air... but that's ok too 🤣

I know how you feel. I have a running partner and when she's on with me.. I'm slower.. And kinda thinking OMG can I do this all on my own. I do.. But it seems harder.

Well done its hard to keep going when you usually run with friends so good on you for finding the motivation - you should be proud of yourself! 😁

Speaking as a week-2-er, that sounds like an amazing run! Shame about your running buddy, but - their loss! Independent running is the way forward 🙌🏻

I couldn't have said any more than UnfitNoMore said ... read their words again and go get this!!!! You have the stamina and you will be fine. Be proud of yourself for getting where you are today and know you will go farther.

Well done you for going out on your own, and for “talking” to your chums here.

Brilliant! You have just faced the new challenges and achieved your next step. I’ve heard it’s all about the mind (as opposed to the bass😆) that gets us through so you have smashed it! Well done you 🥳🍾🏆 🏃‍♀️
