Hello all

New on here and into week 8 of C25K. So far so good. Looking to take it outside on a parkrun at the weekend to switch it up a bit (v nervous) and wondered if anyone had any top tips how to dress for the cold/layers etc. Do you guys run with the app on parkrun or so you leave the music etc behind? Grateful for any tips. Thanks.

You will love parkrun, but do stick to the programme and don't be tempted to run it all or go off at the pace of others. Don't start near the front of you may get trampled on. Warm up well before the start and make sure you listen to the talk for new parkrunners.

Hang onto your barcode and have you registered your club as NHS C25K?

Layers and buff an gloves, as Oldfloss says.

Enjoy yourself.

Amazing, thanks IannodaTruffe and Oldfloss - just one question - what’s a buff?

A buff is a tube of thin material which can be worn as a hat, a balaclava, a snood or a whole variety of things.

My first one was given to me by my cyclist son and I did initially think it was an overpriced piece of fabric but the versatility and smugness is wonderful.

I now have two and you can buy cheap versions which are just as good as the expensive original.

Highly recommended.

I didn’t know you could register your club as NHS C25K for parkrun! Learn something new every day!!
