Christmas is here at last, and so is our virtual team parkrun event! Yeahhhhhhh, it is so exciting!
Just over 50 forum members have signed up for the virtual team run and will be running tomorrow across UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, America etc. Some forum members will also be running on Christmas Day.
A big thank you to everyone for embracing the virtual team idea and joining in! Don't forget to post your pictures telling us where you ran, if it's your first parkrun, if it's a major milestone for you and any thing else you wish to share etc. You can also upload photos onto parkrun's Facebook page if you wish.
Happy Christmas and happy running everyone!

Great post Millsie-J . Sadly I'll only be cheering from the wings as I'm struck down with a chest infection and asthma but I'll really look forward to reading everyone's posts and looking at all the pictures. Have fun
Yes the running will definitely wait, but my local Parkrun is on on both Saturday and Sunday and I had hoped to do both. 'Twill be quite a wait until I get that opportunity again. Oh well, the best laid plans....and all that.
Just like me AM, I was really looking forward to running both days too and to helping afterwards tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon. Sending you big get well hugs. 🤗
Thanks Pops! Very cold and very windy here at the mo too.......I'm hoping it might be brighter locally in the morning but now got my winter leggings and baselayer top so bring it on! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
Happy Christmas Pops and thanks for all you do for this forum!
Fabulous Jacs. Well done! I am going to be part of the virtual support crew with the mince pies AND mulled wine on my Santa Hat, ready to chase everyone who dislikes same or to run tantalisingly in front of those who do! Also, I shall be guiding the Virtual Choir as we sing beautiful Christmas carols. So busy me from the IC! 😉 Good luck to all you wonderful C25K parkrunners! 😘 👏🏻👏🏻 💪🏻💪🏻 🎅🏻🎅🏻🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻
I'm hoping to run tomorrow. However we are doing Christmas dinner for 12 in the afternoon so I'm not quite sure what Him Indoors will think when I suggest that's what I'm going to do. I haven't mentioned it yet!
Also, have you looked outside? Dear oh dear. I'm wondering about running with a flask of mulled wine and a straw...
Go Anne! Him Indoors can begin the food preparation for 12 whilst you are running! Think of my flask of mulled wine in front of you dangling from my Santa hat! 😂😂👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
The parkrun I was going to is cancelled tomorrow 😢.Probably due to the relentless rain we have had here in Scotland for the last few days. I will just need to run on my own and imagine all my C25K parkrun buddies running alongside me.
I did my first Parkrun this morning in Wardown Park in Luton. Lots of people and a great atmosphere. Not sure of my time as I was so relieved it was over I forgot to stop my watch! I enjoyed it so much I'll. e going back again.😊
Ran at Walsall Arboretum Parkrun this morning. Went slow and steady around the three lap course. Went for enjoyment rather than time. Managed 31:17 dressed as an elf.
First parkrun, in Lincoln, successfully completed. Better still, I wasn't last 😀 Chilly to start❄ but soon warmed up once we were going 🌞. Lovely to run somewhere different although the thunder of feet approaching from behind was a bit ominous 🏃. Huge thanks due to the volunteers who were invariably cheerful and full of Christmas spirit 🔔🎄 A cheer too for Millsie-J for organising the virtual run and all the supporters whose encouragement makes all the difference. Merry Christmas all 🎄🔔🏃👟🎄🔔🏃👟
I'm just back from Stratford upon Avon parkrun and I was the tailrunner complete with a tinsel tail! I walked and jogged and encouraged a six year old called Martha and her Mum, and it took us about an hour, the first man home was going through the funnel as we were just completing our first circuit of three! Lots of fancy dress including a blind runner in a full reindeer outfit and a family of elves in brilliant costumes complete with bells. I hope everyone has had fun at parkrun today So preoccupied with getting the little one to the finish I completely forgot to take a photo, sorry!
Ran the Moors Valley Park run yesterday. Finished 148 out of 445 in a time of 27.01. My garmin gave me 26.48 my new PB. Really enjoyed the sight of all the Santa hats bobbing ahead of me. Well done to all virtual (and non virtual) park runners.
Either, or both. I am copying the photos posted on this forum to make a composite as I can only attach one photo to the message. Just waiting for the last reports to come in so that I can send it. Millsie-J , I hope you are keeping track, I have lost count
We had over 50 intending to do it Sue. Not all will have been able to nor all posted. But some did it that werent on the list too! I think we just say around 50, and mention countries represented if word count allows 👍🏼⭐️
