1) When asked by your boss which day per week you'd prefer to work from home, you pick a day you plan to run on so that it will benefit your running schedule.
2) You create a "running" folder on your Gmail for emails from Healthunlocked, parkrun and Fitbit
3) You seriously consider buying a parkrun barcode wristband from the sponsor's website... After only one parkrun parkrun-barcode.org.uk/
4) You're already compiling a running gear wish list for Christmas in case friends/family ask you what you'd most like
Any more for any more?

1) Yes, I have benefitted from a run on a work at home day
2) I have a running folder on my laptop with photos, mileage log etc and one on my internet favourites for the various events websites etc
3) Didn't get a park run wrist band, but ordered the park run tags...
also
4) You no longer buy any other magazines than running ones and even start reading books about running
5) You realise you have spent more money this year on running gear than other clothes - we have three weddings coming up in a period of 3 months, not sure whether my running gear will help me there
..... When your entire plans revolve around your training and running schedule. "Sorry, I can't, I have a long run in't morning".
.... You smile like a loon whenever you see another runner out and about, when you're not running.
..... You see '13.1 miles' on the sat-nav and think "That's a half marathon!!!"
.... You can't find any normal clothes through your mountain of running gear.
..... You become miserable and snappy when you can't run, for whatever reason.
... You become really excited hearing about people's mile/KM splits. Really excited.
Really excited.
..... You're out and about, minding your own business, shopping, for example, and your ears perk up when someone 500 yards away mentions running. You then feel compelled to rush over and chip in.
.... Friends and colleagues no longer ask what you're up to, as they don't wish to be bored to tears by talk of running.
.... You plan your holidays based purely on running opportunities.
.... You look out of the window. It's pouring with rain. Properly pouring. You've never seen so much rain. You dash for your running gear, not able to wait to get out and run in it.
... You feel as though you can do anything, you're unstoppable.
... You travel somewhere by aeroplane. Your running gear goes in your cabin baggage. You never, ever let it out of your sight. Ever.
.... You lock your running gear in the hotel safe while you're out.
.... When you're out and about, not running, you try to wear something, anything, to identify you as a runner, to other runners.
.... You dream about running. And races. And medals.
... Your medal collection is getting out of hand.
.... You have more pairs of running shoes than the local Sports Direct.
... You go out for a meal with a friend. You pick a restaurant where you know you'll be able to get a meal with the right combination of carbohydrates and protein. In fact, it's your only concern.
... In September, you look at the calendar to see when Christmas falls, so you can plan your training accordingly. So that you get to run over Christmas.
... You ***HAVE*** to run on your birthday. It's an utter disaster if you don't.
... You're out somewhere with someone, not running. On one of your running routes. You proudly announce: "I run up here!"
All so true - especially point 1. I may have to work 5 Saturdays in a row now and I am very fed up about it (in fact I told a little white lie yesterday to delay starting work til 12 - just gave me time for Parkrun).
You go to the supermarket for milk and end up buying running leggings and a new top.
You go to Primark for bobbles and end up buying a smart new long sleeve top (it was a bargain and has some special sweat technology!).
You talk about running with anyone who will listen and people start commenting "wow, you're really into this?!"
You 'like' running pages on facebook and forward interesting looking articles to anyone you think might benefit / is interested.
You tell people you can't meet that day, as it's your "running day".
You visit health unlocked every day and wonder how people whom you have no idea what their real name is, how their training / latest running event went!
You abandon your other half on the sofa so you can chat with complete strangers online about their runs and about your runs and about races and about shoes and about buying running gear in Primark (what recently? - is it any good?).
Oh Rainbow, they have a wide range in the city centre branch near me! Different leggings, socks, t shirts, long sleeve tops, sports bras, jumpers, even trainers - although I'm not sure the shoes are very suitable if you do a lot of running. They have gear for other sports too, including gloves if you cycle.
........your photo collection of runs completed, proudly sporting your race numbers and finishers medals, with a huge grin on your face is taking over the living room, visitors might think you're a little obsessed.........no, really?
I was really thinking about that yesterday as the soles of my feet were rather sore after running ... Didn't know if it would make them better or worse as I thought maybe they needed to just be "aired out" as it were ... TMI?!
So my point would be: "You wonder if the forum readers would think it odd if you write a post for opinions on the pros and cons of foot moisturising..."
I have just started college (FE) and we have a residential weekend in February. When the tutor mentioned the hotel was on the seafront ideal for a morning run I was relived. Getting the bug...
I love this thread it's great it says a lot when something can put a huge smile on your face on a wet Monday morning! I looked out the windows this morning and my 1st thought was will it stop by 8pm as my running group is out tonight- not that that'll stop me!!! I spent Friday trying to rope both my sisters to run in a half marathon/5 mile that's on in November! Me and my sister have gotten my other sister and our mother to start c25Δ·! I think that counts us as addicts...but i did tick at least 3/4 of the lists above too... happy monday & happy running
Ah it definitely added to the buzz of starting my training for my first half marathon at the weekend! And the support here really helped! I'm loving my running at the minute
This is all so true! Just today at work the main subject of conversation has been Half Marathons - 3 colleagues did the Cardiff HM this weekend. Another 1 is trying to decide whether to do 1 within the next 6 months & I'm doing 1 next May. I then spent a bit of time wondering if I should display my modest medal collection or should I put them in a box & if I do put them in a box should it be a special box. Then I read this & I'm now wondering if I can fit in a visit to Primark this weekend!
