What’s your running terrain like?

Bit of a random one but I was just wondering whether you run on flat surface, raised surface, field, park etc. ??? I run with a mixture but thinking of changing my route as there’s a big set of steep steps that KILL ME OFF EVERYTIME🥵😂. I feel as though a flat terrain will help me to run for longer maybe?? Any tips?

People run on all sorts of terrain. I run a mixture of road and trails. If you go for flat now, then you will have to face hills at some point in the future. Up to you, but I’d say rum with what faces you now and it will put you in a good place for the future 👍😊🏃🏾‍♀️

I live in Argyll. Not many flat places to run so most of mine do include hills, but what goes up must come down. The Crinan canal is flatish though, done one run there.

I only started friday ran thro local fields and road. Then with encouragement of friends joined them on local 5k park run which was 2 laps of a route setup, omg is all I wanna say the incline at 1 bit was a steep hill slop up the seafront to the top level. Felt good on completion but not during. Good luck

I've mostly run on the flat for my first few months... along the river mainly. My parkrun is fairly flat but with two short but steep hills (inclines?). But I do live on the brink of a steep river valley so I've taken to running back up after the gym... it only takes 2 minutes but absolutely kills me! Hoping that will help in the long run. Oh, and I did my Great Orme run, of course.

Well I run much more slowly on the flat... as do a few of us. Give me an incline any day... but it is great to mix it up....I love my off road, fields and trails best of all... so much variation and things to see and hear...Terrific fun at all times of the year.. wet or dry :)
