I went out and did the C25k+ interval run this morning. Usually I do the interval part twice but this morning I could only manage the standard podcast. I think (and hope) that it was down to the weather as it was already 26 degrees when I went out st 7:30. However the heatwave in Melbourne is due to end soon so hopefully the conditions for running will improve. On the plus side I found a vegetarian cafe on my way back to the hotel and treated myself to a delicious Green Goddess smoothie for breakfast!
Of course it may have been the 10k power walk that I did yesterday!

Funny and nice to read your post as most of us are struggling with bad colds and motivation to go out in the icy rain or even snow in the northern hemisphere I remember groups of joggers in Perth W.A. running at 6.00 am and swimming pools already busy at 7.00 am and bright daylight. We could use of bit sunshine at the moment over here! Hope you'll find some fresh breeze for your next run!
I am also dragging my feet a bit down here in TAS. After work this week has been 30 ish and smoky from controlled burn offs. Day off today so got out around 8...cloudy but still hot. It has just started raining now...nice 😎
The only bit I repeat is the 11 minutes of intervals and usually I have no problem doing that but I do find running in the heat is tricky, probably because I am not used to it, so I think that was the issue yesterday. Rest day today which is just as well as it is pouring down. Just hope that it drys up a bit before tomorrow or we will need wellies for the Parkrun!
I live in France in summer, where the temp is often like yours, 26 C or more in the early mornings. Strangely I find a prefer a short hard run to a long slow one when it's really hot, I often do the Speed podcast there.
My problem is that I am not used to the heat. I am currently in Australia where the temperatures have been in the 30’s compared to freezing at home. Like most people I would prefer something in the middle - 16 to 18 degrees is probably perfect for me. Unfortunately we have had major storms around Melbourne today which are forecast to continue all weekend. I am hoping to find a Parkrun to do tomorrow but some of them are being cancelled due to the weather! Temperatures will be ok but we might need our wellies if the rain continues.
The hot weather in France gets me every year, there really isn't much between freezing and boiling, and the first few hot days can make you feel awful if you don't take care. I'm not sure you ever get used to it...
