New approach

After graduating in Feb this year my running was going great until Sept. Since then I have had daughter’s wedding & 2 major bouts of respiratory infections which put me on the injury couch. The problem now is overcoming the comfort of the sofa so I am attempting something new. I am signing up for a few virtual races over the next 3 months & have downloaded an app called Zombies, Run. Never done either before so maybe they will get my bum off the sofa. Zombies, Run will be tried out once it gets light & I will let you know how it goes 👍

I also sign up for virtual races, will finish one today. I find it really does help when the couch really pulls you in 😂

Good to read your post as i have my graduation (second one as graduated last October but keeping running was harder so restarted again in August) run later and this time i am enjoying it more so for me it is finding something to keep me going until i am comfortable in progressing more than 5k! My first aim is to get to 5km then a parkrun but i will definitely check out virtual runs & zombie run! So huge thanks for inspiration! Now just to get my graduation run done tonight😉

Don’t wait until you can run 5k to do a parkrun because you can walk parts of it if you wish, I do. I love parkrun, it is a really great atmosphere & huge fun. Good luck with your graduation run x

I've run one virtual 5k (wanted some bling and so far not seduced by organised events) - I treated it as a 'real' event ie put it in the diary and kept the date with myself. It felt every bit as earnt as doing an event. Have fun.

Sorry to hear about your bouts of illness and being resigned to the IC. The virtual runs will be good motivation for getting back out there and for a good cause, even better if doing it with someone..😊

ejvcruns is a Zombie run expert and has managed very well with it, she's still with us and showing no signs of being one of the undead!

Thanks everyone for your support. A family issue & ongoing saga of car problems ( 3rd visit to car hospital in 2 weeks!) stopped me getting out yesterday but today is a new day 😁 Zombie running after work x
