Today I was going to run my first Parkrun. I think on my graduation run on Wednesday I must have pulled a muscle in my left thigh as Thursday I could barely walk. I have been taking Ibuprofen since and using deep heat but still not too good so best rest it. I can't tell you how disappointed I am but no point making it worse. I'll have to wait now as can't do it next week. Everything crossed I'm fully fit in 2 weeks time.

Sorry to hear that you are injured. I can hear your disappointment but the park will still be there next time and no point making it worse or having a miserable experience.

Chin up neverrunbefore :)

Huge commiserations- doesn’t take away from your triumph though! I gather that being on the IC - and moving past it - is all part of the body-learning that is vital. I am a wee bit older than you, graduated back in July and now on a much more gradual trajectory towards I hope a long-time sustainable fitness regime. Take care!.

Thank you, I'll be 65 next week and was so looking forward to doing this. But I guess injuries are always possible what ever age. Still as Helenwheels says the Park isn't going anywhere.

Oh what a shame. Be patient with your body and it will be worth it and you’ll have a fantastic first park run 🏃‍♀️ good luck for two weeks time 😀

Follow the usual RICE advice and hopefully you will be better soon, it's really gutting when you end up on the IC. But with a bit of r and r, hopefully you will be out there.

I certainly hope so. Still struggling at the moment. Fingers crossed 🤞 it won’t be too much longer.
