First Park Run done😀

It was drizzling at the start, then pouring, it was undulating, it was mainly on very muddy grass, but I did it! And ... I ran all the way.😀😀

I haven't got my time yet, but that is irrelevant really as I have never ran 5k before and my goal was to run a 5k which I have.

Lessons learnt:

I need shorts with the tight underlayer as I got chaffing from wet material

I believe I tied my trainers too tight as got pins and needles in left toes

I had paced it OK as I sprinted from last Marshall to the end

10 weeks ago, I was a couch potato and now I have just done my first Park Run - am unbelievably delighted 😀

Congratulations on your first parkrun! I did the very same thing this morning too for the first time, it’s great to read about your experience. Mine was so very muddy I slipped a few times but thankfully didn’t fall over!

Well done and enjoy a weekend on cloud 9 that you completed your first parkrun. Feels good, doesn’t it?

I was amazed at how many people were there, but am still grinning that I did it!

Well done to you too.

My time was 40 mins 45 secs but I wasn’t last!

I have very bad chaffing due to wet shorts. 😩

Ew, hate that stuff!

Need to rethink running gear for wet weather. Luckily, my husb has all sorts of leggings/shorts so will try all his first!
