Wild, wet, windy, and dark but it was a lovely morning to go running. After a disturbed night's sleep I woke up about 3.30 and couldn't go back to sleep so eventually I got up and went out at about 5.30 thoroughly expecting it to be a duty run. Despite, or because of the wind and the rain, I loved it.
Who would have thought that a fat, disabled, middle aged woman would enjoy running? Then you just have to look deeper and see not the outer shell of the person now but what she was before illness struck, what is still there bubbling under the surface. I always loved sports and the outdoor life. Was always active, full of vim and vigour. Will be again in some form or another.
Following this programme, with it's structure designed to push you just a little bit further each week, is ideal for those who are starting out on their new way of life. It gives you the framework upon which you can build your better, more active, life. It is utterly brilliant and I'm so glad I've started. Thank you x

What a beautiful post! I love a bit of rain too, congratulations on getting this far - I'm at the same stage as you, well just done first run of wk4 mine is very much getting through it - I only enjoy it when I stop and am delighted I made it but I have faith I'll enjoy the running itself at some point and your post inspires me x
Oh, thank you, Minibear, I'm so glad that my ramblings have made sense to someone. I've been inspired by many posters on this forum. It is through them that I know that I too can achieve my goal. I'm sure that you will learn to love running. It's an amazing feeling when you get into a zen frame of mood, when everything is effortless and joyous. I'm still waiting to get to that stage but I'm lucky enough to remember the joy I had in my physicality and am determined to get it back
You are amazing! To turn the negative of a broken night into a positive and run is a real mindset achievement. The cool air and rain can be terribly liberating, hope you stretched afterwards so you can move later today? Have a big brekkie to celebrate week 4 and I hope you can catch a snooze later if you need it?
Thank you very much. We are all amazing on this journey aren't we? I am continuously inspired by the posts on here. I did manage to get a snooze after breakfast. Thank goodness it's Saturday. I love the wind and rain although it is not brilliant for specs. I shall have to get a cap x
What a lovely inspiring post & your great positive attitude & vigour for life will certainly see you through this amazing program which so works! If this post doesn’t inspire the people who are struggling to keep going nothing will!! This is my second time round on c25k & i can say im enjoying it more than ever this time & really feel once you start this program & posting on here something keeps pulling you back which was just what i needed!! Happy running to that podium 😊🏃🏃👍
Pc59, how kind you are. I agree that by posting on this forum you feel that you would be letting others as well as yourself down if you stop. I look forward to seeing you on the podium. If, when, I get there it will be because of the support from marvellous people like you x
I am up at 5am most mornings so that I have time to travel into uni on time so for me it's not a hardship. I love the early mornings and the late evenings when the world is quieter. It's wonderful to see deer, badgers, owls, bats and other wildlife that others may not have the opportunity to observe. I'd recommend that you try it at least once
