Week 2 done!

It was a mixed bag week, Monday was good felt like I was getting somewhere, Wednesday was hard, legs were like lead and pulled my thigh a bit, today was ok again despite the horrible wet blowy weather. I’m almost enjoying it!!!!

Any tips on stretching out thigh muscles before or after running?

I have just finished w2 and noticed I have to run for 3 minutes next week not sure how it going to go , I too have noticed my legs feel heavy is this just because I am not used to all this exercise

I just noticed that while talking to a friend about it. It scares me a little but I’m sure we can do it. Keep me posted how you get on on Monday.

As for legs, I don’t know why but it can’t just be the new running thing as some days they are fine and some not.

I've just finished week 3 and I had exactly the same thoughts as you both regarding the 3 mins (I have currently the same thoughts at what Week 4 holds for me). But it's very achievable.

Make sure you rest and re-hydrate well. Stretch a little before you go out and then "knock it out of the park".

Thank you! It’s great to hear from someone just ahead who knows what we are thinking. Here’s to Monday!

Mine ached today for the first time. i do wonder if it's because it was the morning when they are less supple. i usually run in the evening but have a friend coming over this evening.

I just finished week 2 as well. The first day was easy, the second one too. today i struggled, partly running in the morning which seems to be harder for me, and partly because my route had more slopes and hills (unavoidable here). I will be interested to see how you manage week 3. I'm undecided whether to keep at week 2 or go on. i guess I will try week 3 and see. Please keep us posted!

Do try week three, I have hills where I live as well. I’ve managed a route with as few as possible but they will become unavoidable as I run further.

I will post on Monday to tell you how I got on.

That's a shame we could have met occasionally to see how we are doing but will keep in touch on here, I am hoping to start w3 tomorrow after I have finished work at lunch time, I will run around the town then

Do keep in touch and when we have both finished maybe we could find a Derbyshire 5k to do?
