Wk 3 R1 next up

Hi,

Is anyone else at the same stage as me, ie my next run/walk is Tuesday and it’s W3R1. I’d really like to be doing it with someone at the same stage. Also, I’m running/walking every second day so it’s really less than a week. Should I be taking a two day break during the week? 🤷‍♀️

Well done. I've just finished week 5 and feel great. I've not run since I was at school and at 51 and over weight it was quite a challenge. As so many people say it is hard but can be done. I looked at the entire schedule at the start and doubted I'd be able to do it. Today's run was THE one I was really not looking forward to. It was hard but I did it. By the time you get here your legs will be capable but it's your mind and self Doubt you need to overcome. For now keep going get the breathing working and praise yourself every time you complete a run as you will have done well.

If you feel you can run every other day then do it. I've only taken an extra day twice in 5 weeks.

Keep going and keep me informed of your progress.

Hi Ady66,

Thanks for the advice. I’m 49 and a couple of Stone overweight so indeed it is challenging. I feel determined too so hopefully it will help the mindset! Keep it up, you’re doing brilliant 🏃‍♀️👍🏼

Hi. Im about to start w3. Im loving it but My legs do not share my enthusiasm! I try for every other day but cant always manage it ( you know work and all that). So two day breaks are a bit of a norm

I definitely think every other day is enough for me at this stage

Ah, great! I’m going to follow u if you don’t mind Biris1? It will be great to feel I’m running with others at the same stage, maybe we can all help each other through. I’m hoping to stick with one day breaks though 🤞

I did W3R1 on Saturday morning and apart from my usual left shin tightness it was ok. Taking an extra days rest today and due to a late start at work tomorrow I’ll be doing W3R2 in the morning.

Hi Clivea,

Oh brill, we’re at exactly the same! I’ll be doing my Wk3R1 in the morning too. Hope u don’t mind me following you so I can see how you’re doing? I’m planning on trying to stick with one day breaks if I can 😫.

Hi, I did W3R1 yesterday and hope to do R2 tomorrow if the heavy rain doesn’t materialise (makes my route too slippery). We’re doing fab! Take a two day break if you want but mostly listen to your body.
