After being persuaded by my mum (running partner) to download this app, I have been reading through the posts and felt inspired to post as well for the first time! πββοΈ
A little background about myself - I played football for over 12 years. Then had knee injury which I still suffer with. After 5 knee operations, I still endeavour to be as fit as I was when I played football. This is my 2nd attempt at c25k as my last op was the end of May.
Today I ran week 5 run 3, which is 20 mins straight through. I was delighted when I got to last 5 minutes because I had really got into my pace. Iβve learnt a lot in the last 5 weeks, as Iβve had tweak my running style slightly.
At the moment, Iβve got a slight breathing problem which seems to be more effected by the cold air as the winter is getting harsher! π₯ΆI was advised to buy something that covers my face/mouth, so I got a snood! This has worked wonders, although difficult at first to get used to but perseverance is the key! πJust helpful tip for anyone else who suffers with their breathing!
In addition, itβs coming up to my birthday so I brought some new running trainers with some new insoles to prevent the aches pains Iβm getting in my feet. Iβll review the trainers when they arrive. π
Lastly, just want to say itβs a pleasure reading about everyoneβs inspiring posts. Well done to everyone running, whether itβs your first day or you are completing c25k! It all counts!! ππ»
Great you've got so far through the pla, well done mum for that gentle persuasion. Cold breathing not good, glad you've found a solution that works for you. Happy running
Hey daughter. π. You have come such long way this year alone... starting a C25k and having to stop due to your knee injury, then 6 months later you are running for 20mins is fantastic. Keep it up and we will be running 5k sooner than you think. πββοΈπ. I knew you would love the app once you down loaded it, like you said a lot of inspiring post to give you inspiration to carry on and helpful tips. Running partner and mum ππ»ππββοΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
I can recommend those shoes Mufc16, I have had a pair of Brooks Glycerin running shoes since April, no problems with my feet whatsoever, I think the number of the shoes I have is 11, yours are number 17.
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran ππΎ π
