Well as some of you know I was given permission to try steady runs again this week from my physio after not running since the end of August. So off I went all excited starting on week 4 r1.

Wow was that hard. I can't believe how much fitness I have lost. Only just got through the 3 min runs however only managed 3.5 mins on the last section. Was going slower than slow. Recovery was a lot quicker than when I originally started the programme so that's a bonus. I will repeat the run again on Saturday giving me a few rest days.

A little gutted that I've lost so much stamina however it felt so good to be back out there and as they say , Rome wasn't built in a day, so will chip away and trust in the programme again, building up strength in the hip area. Thanks for all your advice and support....im back ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Welcome back ๐Ÿ™‚ I think you can expect to have lost fitness in the time you've been away from running but it will soon return. Having the structured programme will be great ๐Ÿ™‚

Aw, Mandy โ€“ so sorry to hear what you have been through, what a pain! (Both emotionally and physically). Try not to worry โ€“ I am sure that you will get your stamina back up in no time at all. You know the drill, you have run beforeโ€ฆjust need to put the runs in, nice and slowly. I will be rooting for you, so do check in often and let us know how you are getting on.

I have been having a "hip blip" myself lately, and although it seems on the mend now, I am still worried, as I love running.

Wishing you all the very best. x

Aww thank you Sadie really appreciate the support. Hope your hip problems are getting sorted too. It is worrying after so long both physically and mentally but like you say I have been through it before and know the drill.

Like you, I love running and got to enjoy the longer runs so it was a shock to discover how much I'd lost. But hey I'm back and fingers crossed slow and steady away I'll not look back. Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š
