Well got through it ok in the end and managed to pick up the pace slightly towards the finish. I do believe I can do the 20 minute run physically, seems to be more of a mental battle, what does everyone else think?

Run 3 of Week 5 seems daunting but you’re right, it is more a mental battle than a physical one. All the running that you have done so far in the program has been preparing you for this very run. Take it slow and steady and you will achieve. 😊

Of course you can do it.............just like the thousands who came before you.

Believe.

Thanks Oldfloss, yes i can do it , just need to concentrate on one foot in front of the other, might try to break it down into 5 minute chunks.

Think of other things too... look around, make up rhymes, make silly names up for folk you meet etc etc :)

Well done. I'm following behind you having just finished wk4 so interesting to follow how you're doing.

I am posting after every run so will let you know, might have to do run 3 on pavement as it is an evening run so not ideal but will give it my best shot.

Well done Chris. Like runforme I too am about to start week 5 and almost deleted the app when I saw run 3 😮 it’s good to know I’m not alone and we all have these niggling doubts at times. Good luck with run 3 💪🏻🏃🏻‍♀️

Hey Chris

I did it this morning and have to say, it was one of my best runs so far in the programme.

Mentally, friends just told me to feel positive and to keep on running. The first 6 minutes I found hard (always do and usually stop) today I thought, no way! Something happened at ten mins and the next ten were far more comfortable. I really think it’s because I’m warm by then and it just feels more comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, I had to push myself and my pace wasn’t great but I did it!!

Go for it and good luck......

Just joined this group tonight and glad I have - Attempting W5 run 3 tomorrow on treadmill and was dreading it - def a mental challenge as well as physical - I had not ran/jogged for 20 years until I started this. All comments and posts have given me just a little more confidence that I can do this. I might even run in public one day who knows !!!
