I did it! Week 5 run 3

Feeling fantastic! I started on Easter bank holiday Monday, right in full lockdown, so up and down the garden I went! Dogs getting in the way, but I carried on! Today I decided that I would do the last run of week 5 in the big wide world as lockdown has been eased a little, and I’m so glad I did, I was so nervous, not sure why but I was, but I found it much easier than I was expecting and looking forward to being able to run a full 30 mins in the future( and hopefully Parkrun when it’s allowed to start up again). Thank you C25K for giving a great plan to follow.

Well done! YES, Fantastic! I hope I feel like you in 2 run's time. I was really dreading week 5, today I did the first run and felt the best ever. I went for a hour's brisk walk yesterday on day off so that helped, I think. Also, this is the best bit - my blood pressure has gone right down. That is really encouraging. Looking forward to run 2 this week. It's so far, ALL WORTH IT!

I’m sure you will feel the same! It’s a fantastic feeling to go from thinking I can never do this(after week one!) haha to actually running 20 mins! Congrats on getting the blood pressure down, that’s a great achievement in itself 😁

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Yay that’s a milestone run! I was so proud of myself when I completed it as it felt like a big step up but really it’s a mental leap more than physical. Onwards and upwards, you may find the intervals a challenge next week but trust the programme, it works! I’ve just completed week 8 and I know I can do it - I think I started to believe it after week 5. Enjoy!

Congrats on week 8! I think I enjoyed running out and about more than I thought! Fingers crossed I enjoy the coming weeks as much 😊

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran. 😊

We are all looking forward to when parkruns will return, New Zealand looks like the first place that they will resume, I am afraid that the way things look like social distancing being here in the UK for a while, parkrun may not start until 2021, but we can always live in hope that they will begin again this Autumn.

Thanks, yes I’ve seen posts about week 6 run 1, I think I shall be glad of the rest intervals as I know it’s going to lead up to another big run at the end!

I hope we don’t have to wait until next year for park runs, but if we do I will have to wait! Was hoping it would be towards autumn 🤔

Congratulations. I also completed run 3 wk 5 today. What a huge achievement. I have been dreading this run but kept telling myself I can do it and I did it. Definitely mind over matter and I really believe in the process. We can cross this off. Happy days. 🥳
