Struggled with week 4 but managed to get there after a couple of repeats and today, wonder of wonders, I managed to complete w5r1!!! Was at the dentist Monday and have been dosed with painkillers and antibiotics so didn’t expect too much when I set out today, but remembered the advice you all gave me - slow and steady. I was slower than the slowest snail, but it meant that I could breathe deep and manage to keep going even when my legs got tired. Feeling really good and more positive about my ability to keep going, though I know that this week is a tough one. Will keep on repeating if necessary until I achieve that amazing goal of 30mins running. Enjoyed the craic with other walkers and runners, too!

Well done Oldgal. Yes slow and steady is definitely key but speed doesn't matter you still get there in the end. Good job. Stay positive. If I can do it so can you. x
Thanks, J9_54 . It’s reading the experiences of people like yourself on the forum that has given me the push to keep on trying to reach those goals. Not knowing whether you can achieve 15minutes running is daunting, but when others report their success it’s a definite spur to give it a go!
Slow and steady is right..but.... if you are on antibiotics... not a great idea to run...Your body is fighting some infection, with the meds... and does not need the strain.. finish the course and get out after
I will do that Oldfloss . Today was the last tablet so I will give it a couple of days before trying w5r2. Now that I’ve got the bit between my teeth I just wanna get out there and give that next challenge a go, but will take your good advice!
