I did my third parkrun at Hull today. I ran with a friend who is much faster than I am (he was very patient with me being slow) ! I knocked 15 seconds off my pb with a time of 37min 05 ! Not the fastest time ever I know but this C25k graduate is chuffed with it ! When I started C25k in August, the idea of doing parkruns seemed scary and unlikely. Keep going you C25k'ers, you will be so happy with your achievements ! Hull is a good one to do as it is flat and an easy route (2 and a bit times round the boating lake).
Parkrun - slow and steady !!: I did my third... - Couch to 5K
Parkrun - slow and steady !!
well done you, its the fact you get yourself out and do it that's the important thing. I marshaled my local park run today. I was like a drowned rat, it was awful weather, I'd have rather run it lol
Congratulations! I envy you your flat Parkrun. I'd have to travel some 30 miles to Harrogate to get something on the flat. Somehow, the downhill bits at Skipton don't seem to compensate for the uphill bits.
Don't worry about your time. When you get really used to running 5Km, you'll than be able to concentrate on speeding up.
That's what I tell myself anyway.
Thank you ! I am really happy with my time. We don't have hills in this part of Yorkshire, only the occasional undulation. Running a hilly parkrun would be quite a shock to my system!
Used to live in Hull (back in the mists of time) so I know what you mean. My daughter tells me hills are good for me - they'll make my legs stronger (or some other nonsense). That's the trouble with younger, fitter people: they don't realise how annoying being right can be.
Knocking 15 seconds off your time is a brilliant achievement so many congratulations to you! It just shows that slow and steady is the way to go.
brilliant...isnt park run just fab
15 seconds off! - well done. Just keep at it. Isn't parkrun such good fun? I don't know what I did with my Saturday mornings before I discovered it.
Well done girly, congrats on the pb. Parkrun is ace
Well done Girly, i was just down the road at Humber Bridge. Reasonably flat and out of the wind.
Brilliant time for a Parkrun - great fun.
