Week 5: slow progress but getting there

Well Week 5 has taken a month as I had a week off on holiday touring, so a lot of sitting and a bit of walking, but no running.

I did Week 5 Run 1 just before going away, but when I returned I felt so stiff that first I ran Week 4 again just to get back into it. When I ran W5 R1 again I suffered some hip pain, so had 4 days of rest. Then I managed W5 R1 with no problems, so 3 days later I did it again and ran for an extra minute. On to W5 R2, which I've done twice, doing a very slow gentle jog. The first time it was quite difficult but on the repeat run, the second 8 minutes seemed a lot easier. I'm going to repeat this run once more, then I will go for Run 3 and see how I get on 🙂

well done Neverhare ..you sound like you know exactly what you’re capable of, repeating runs is absolutely fine if you feel that’s what you need to do..it’s working anyway..so crack on 😉

🍏 You are doing the right thing resting when you experience pain. Yes you can repeat any and as many runs as you want to before moving on. Have a look at   Oldfloss posts on strength & flex to help you prevent injuries. You are progressing really well and are now halfway through the program! Well done 👍 xx

Thank you Annieapple, I don't want a repeat of 2021 when I overdid it! I was so enjoying my new running life and hope to keep going this time 😀
